[there is some static before a loud thumping is heard over the speakers. if you listen closely, you can here someone faintly asking Is this thing on?, followed by some muffled conversation. after that, the picture is adjusted and a blonde teenager's bust is shown]

Oh, thanks, sugarcube... Uh, hey there, everypony. [she waves at the screen, looking quite awkward, as though she weren't comfortable in her own skin] Th'name's Applejack. Ah got here a few days ago, but Ah've been... uh. Dealin' with some... stuff.

But now that Ah finally figured out how t'work this thing, Ah thought Ah'd try talkin' t'some of th'folks around here, 'cause Ah'm still not really understandin' everything. Monodramon's been a big help. [here, the device spins around, revealing the Digimon that is actually holding the D-Terminal. he waves too before focusing the screen on AJ again] An' Ah've read the information here over an' over. It's still a lot t'take in, yanno?

Ah guess what Ah wanna say is Ah'd be glad t'help y'all out, especially if savin' this world means Ah'll be able to help Equestria. Just lemme know what Ah should do first.

About that...see...until recently, Fluttershy's been, uh...missing...

...Missing? Whaddaya mean missing?

Uh...well okay, see, a week or so ago, the city we all used to live kinda...disappeared. So we all had to move to a different place...I'm guessing it's the city that you're in right now...?

Anyway, so we all had to leave, right? Well the new city is on a different continent from our old one, so we had to travel to get to the new one. Most of us took the Trailmon...those are, uh...train-like Digimon, in case you, uh...never mind.

But Fluttershy had um...gotten a bit...hurt...when we were leaving our old city. So when Sprout and I were getting on the Trailmon, she couldn't keep up with us, and kinda got...left behind...

We went back for her, though! Right away! But...when we got there, she was...gone.

She's back now, though! [That's a good thing, right?]

[let her just process this. she's listening carefully, eyes narrowing with worrying. Fluttershy was hurt! that's what matters most]

She's... She's okay, right? Where is she now?

Um...I think so, for the most part? She was found by a Digimon called BlackWarGreymon, and he's bringing her to Hospitown.

Looks like that's who Ah gotta find, then. Thanks fer lettin' me know.

You're welcome. BlackWarGreymon should be getting there pretty soon. Since he flies, he gets there a lot faster than anyone taking the Trailmon.

Speaking of, Sprout and I are still on one of the islands making our way over to Hospitown. It'll still take us a while before we can get there. Could you look after her 'til we get there?

[Like he really has to ask.]

[aww... her expression softens quite a bit]

[That gets him to smile a little.] Okay. Thanks. Everyone's been really worried about her.

Guess she's made a lot of friends here, huh?

Oh yeah! She's actually really popular with people here. Lots of people like being her friend.

Well, it's a long story...a powerful Digimon had taken the Chosens' original partners and broke a piece of their core. Then they had taken that piece and made other partners...we call 'em SCOPE partners.

Or something like that.

[she's tilting her head as she tries to understand, then just sighs]

Ah don't get it, but Ah guess it's not really important now. But why did the powerful Digimon do that? Was it tryin' t'hurt y'all?

I think that was the idea. I guess he took the original partners away and gave the Chosen fragmented version in hopes of making them weaker somehow.

He didn't count on the Chosen really bonding so well with the SCOPE partners, though.

one of the most important things Ah've ever learned was to never underestimate the power of friendship. Sounds like that Digimon had a rough time! Ah'm guessin' he was defeated?

Um...maybe? I forget who exactly made the SCOPE partners, and who returned the original ones. [He gave a sheepish laugh.] Things have kind of been a blur lately...

Oh. Ah see. Well, are things okay now?

Besides the other city where we'd all been living before disappearing, things are okay mostly.

Okay, so... There was another city everypony was living, but somethin' happened to it, and that's why y'all are movin' to HospiTown?
