002 - Second Flight [Action/Accidental Video]
[Though during the parade Hiccup had been dragged around a bit more than he would have liked, he's been getting restless lately. He's not really used to being cooped up inside so much, but the city is still a lot to take in. Compared to the forests and mountains of Berk this was a big change. Of course Gomamon insisted that he was just overreacting, but the viking is really suffering from a bit of culture shock.
So, fed up with being stuck in the apartment while everyone else was off doing who-knows-what, he wrenched one of the drawers near his bed open and reached his hand around inside until he found a pencil and a pad of paper. Even these simple tools- compared to charcoal and parchment- were foreign to him.
It's just a short walk down a few flights of stairs to get down to the street, and once he makes it outside he heads down the sidewalk for a block or so with Gomamon riding on his shoulders. Then, finding the nearest bench, he sits down and pulls Gomamon off, setting him on the bench beside him so he can hold the pad of paper in his lap.
And what does he do?
Immediately he starts drawing, his hand moving quickly to rough out a sketch before moving to make the lines darker in places as needed. Gomamon tilts his head with a frown, noticing that Hiccup is glancing over at him every now and then before looking back at the paper. In almost no time at all, Gomamon finds himself looking at a picture of his own likeness in the notebook, nearly perfectly rendered with all of the acquatic digimon's features down to the exact detail.
That done, he then brushes some eraser shavings away before beginning to write the oddest looking symbols above and around the picture. It doesn't look anything remotely close to English, or Japanese even- rather an old language unfamiliar to anyone but himself.
Of course, neither Hiccup or Gomamon notice that his D-Terminal fell from his belt onto the bench, turning on accidentally.]

Hey, Mister! I can see you!
When he notices the D-Terminal sitting next to him and turned on, he quickly picks it up, putting down the pencil and pad for a moment.]
..Tapirmon? ...Sorry I- ..this thing must have turned on by itself.
[That's why he's apologizing, right? ...RIGHT?!
He takes a quick glance around Hiccup's room, or at least best he can through the Terminal, only to gasp.]
Are you drawing pictures?! I think you need more colors!
[Hiccup sighs while he gets to work erasing the massive dark mark he accidentally scrawled across the page. Gomamon is quiet for the moment, preoccupied by studying the picture Hiccup drew of him.]
And I would, but I don't really have anything to color with.
[And he does prefer black and white anyway.]

It's more photo-realistic then anything Neku would personally draw, but the talent is obvious.]
...not bad.
[Action]
[Hiccup pauses for a moment to look up at Neku, smiling a bit.]
Thanks. I...I haven't done this in a while so I...I'm kinda rusty.
Rusty? For once I beg to differ!

You shouldn't be so humble with a talent like yours! It's quite obvious you've put quite a bit of time in such a skill.

...that language... [It looks similar to some of the spells and rituals he's looked up--he has no idea what it means, but he has memorized a couple of rituals involving transcribing them in things.]
You know about runes?! Are you trying to cast something?
no subject
..Cast something? No I was just...well all I did was write Gomamon's name, actually.
[Though, written in runes, it looks a lot more complicated than that.]

I didn't know they were an actual alphabet. [Derrrrrp.]

...Diiiid you say something Gomamon...?
Not a peep. Geez you finally are goin' crazy.

Naminé, seeing her partner acting nervous, clears her throat lightly.]
