[The camera is focused on Kovu, who's sitting on his bed, hunched over with his hands in his lap. He seems to be scowling, but it's hard to tell from this angle. Lopmon's obviously the one holding the D-Terminal, since his voice is loud and clear.]

[Lopmon shouts as Kovu throws a pillow right at his head, bowling him over and sending the D-Terminal flying. The feed clicks off when it hits the ground.]

What was it like? Going back home?

I-It was...I-It was strange. It was like I hadn't left at all.

[He actually...he's never asked anyone about their homes before. Hollyleaf had volunteered what she told him...]

I-It's...It's nice. There are a lot of...people there who are willing to help others, and for the most part people are pretty friendly.

There have been some...problems, of course. But I like it there...

[Then again, just about anything would be better than here, or the Outlands.]

[She nods.] Well, as I mentioned, it's not perfect. A lot of things happen, and there have been some people who have tried to destroy it...But they're always stopped, one way or another.

[That sounds more like home.]

I guess nowhere can be peaceful all the time.

Well, no...There's always going to be problems. But that's part of life.

If things were peaceful all the time, then how would anyone know whether that's a good thing?

[He grew up in almost the opposite situation. Peace was something the Pride Landers had, not the Outlanders.]

I don't know. I'm not that used to things being peaceful.

[She had thought about as much. She'd always been afraid to ask, but it always seemed that he'd had a hard life.]

Living in peace all the time...can be as bad as living without it. Because if it was always peaceful...there wouldn't be mistakes, or room to grow...

There...has to be a balance, somehow...

[That sounds like something Nala would try to tell him.]

I guess...it'd get boring.

[But what's worse? Boring...or fighting for your life?]

[She nodded, then couldn't help a small laugh.]

Although too much chaos isn't good either...something a friend of mine back home is still trying to...get used to...

[Her face is making Kovu's curiosity get the better of him.]

Do they just keep stirring up trouble?

He's very...mischievous...I actually first met him when he was still a bad guy. He has amazing and terrible powers, which he used to try to destroy our home, throwing it into chaos and turning me and my friends against each other...

Even after we became friends, though, he still can't help causing a little chaos here and there...My friends back home don't really appreciate it, and they always worry that he'll go back to being a bad guy...

You can't really blame them, though.

Not too much...I mean I do understand that could happen...But it's also not fair that they don't give him a chance. If they keep treating him with suspicion because they think he'll turn on us, he might do that just because they expect him to.

Sometimes people act the way they do because they're never given a chance to do otherwise...

[Kovu's breath catches. All at once, images of all the things he's done this last month play through his mind, ending with Squall on the train.]

It's...not easy to change in the first place.

I know...which is why I sometimes wish my friends could be more patient with Discord...He does try, even though he still likes to cause a little trouble sometimes. The change can't happen overnight, and he needs to be given a chance, otherwise he won't want to change...

Too bad most people don't see that.

Well, it's like I said...change doesn't happen overnight. All we can do is try our best, and help them see the changes we make. And if they truly want things to change...then they'll start changing too.

[Strabimon clears his throat from the corner, where he's been standing silently until now.]

Listen to her, Kovu. The same stuff goes for you when you get back home.

[Lopmon nods emphatically, while Kovu just kind of...deflates.

Thanks for being blunt, Strabimon...]

[She blinks, looking from Strabimon back to Kovu. She won't ask, but...she does wonder what kind of situation Kovu has back home that makes this so relevant.]

All you can do is try your best...

How many times are you gonna hear that, Kovu? How many people have to say it?

[Strabimon's only saying what he knows is on Kovu's mind. The guy might as well be screaming it out loud by now.]

Don't let him argue with you, Fluttershy. Trust me, he's gonna try.

[With his piece said, Strabimon leaves the room. The idea of bringing Fluttershy here was to get Kovu feeling better - he wasn't about to let the idiot make himself feel worse just because she was talking about one of her friends.

Kovu's left with his jaw slack, trying to even think of what to say.]

[She blinked, confused and a little concerned about what his Digimon was saying.]

Sh...Sh-Should I...go...?

[Kovu shakes his head.]

No...it's fine. I just...have a lot of stuff from back home on my mind.
