It raises many interesting questions, doesn't it? I don't have many theories beyond the fact that somehow, this world managed to download your bodies and your consciousnesses and convert them into "data" so you could exist here, as actual entities.

Makes as much sense as anything I guess. If the digimon are really digital it's not that far of a jump.
