[Hiccup doesn't see the note until Monodramon is gone, but he's relieved to have missed him. Instead of finding him, Hiccup finds a pencil and scrawls a quick note at the bottom.
...It's in runic norse of course, so nobody's going to understand it. But it roughly translates to-]

I'll try to be there. I might have to leave Gomamon in the apartment though.

[Monodramon sees this a while later and scribbles underneath it.]

[And if Monodramon looks again he'll see....something that BARELY makes any sense. ..It's because Gomamon wrote it, with a pencil in his mouth. Also, the note isn't on the door anymore. It's been torn off because he had to jump and grab it in his mouth.

It...the paper has seen better days. If Monodramon can at ALL make out what it says, Gomamon tried to write a response.]

Dunno what that screwball junk is but it's some language of Hiccup's. Either way, we ain't comin ya ding-dong.

[He obviously doesn't know what the message was either.]

I...don't suppose you would mind reading it aloud in a more common language, would you? I never learned any English beyond how to read the alphabet and a few words that made it into the Federation standard language.

[Walter happens to pass the little dragon as he posts a sign with his own dragon in tow. He slows down a bit to peer at it, then turns to Veemon for commentary.]

Well. I'd ask if it'd be a place to get a drink, but seeing as it looks like it's mostly for the kids, that'd be pretty half-baked of me, wouldn't it. [Dry chortle.]

How do you mean? It'd be weird to have a feast with nothing to drink.

What I'll take away from that is not to expect to happen by a pub anywhere 'n this city. It's gonna be a good long month or so, then.

[Lopmon is reading the notice as the other Digimon is putting it up. Then he glances at Fluttershy.] Maybe we should go...

[Monodramon was moving on to put a note on the next door, but they're muttering over there.]

[Lopmon frowned and bounded over to Monodramon; mostly to ask him a question, but also to get between the other Digimon and his partner, just in case.]

Anyone can go for that dinner thing right? It'd be okay if we went?

She said it's her responsibility to make sure all'a you guys are okay!

[Don't mind Elecmon, he's just casually going around decorating all the notes with drawings of food and giving them squiggly borders and stuff.]
