Code 001 [video]
[Click! The video comes on. This is the first time Hakuno is using her D-Terminal to make a video of her own, rather than just reply to someone else's, but she doesn't look nervous at all.]
I've been thinking for a while... is it common for the people here to give their partners nicknames? [Ever since she ran into Cam, it's been sort of... wiggling around at the back of her mind. She'll have to address it sooner or later.] I mean, it makes sense, since there are some people here with the same species of digimon. But how many people here have started calling their partners something different?
[From off-screen comes a slightly exasperated voice.] Hakuno, really, it's okay. You don't have to do this...
[Hakuno laughs a little, but otherwise ignores her partner's words.] It just seems weird, to keep calling someone who's supposed to be my friend by what's more or less just the name of her species.

What? Oh! Hi!

And hello to you too, Thelma. [And from the background:] Hello, Thelma!
no subject
What's up? What's your guys' names?
no subject
And I'm Lucemon. For now, anyway. I'm sure my name will probably different by the end of the day.
no subject
Nice to meet you guys! What kinda name are you thinking of? Gotta have something good.
no subject
[Hmm...]
And I'm not really sure yet. I've been thinking maybe... something mythological. [There's a sort of fond tone to her voice when she speaks next, like she's reminiscing about something.] I had a.... a friend. Who was... pretty big into Ancient Rome.
[Not entirely accurate, but she's told enough people about her magical spirit of genderswapped Emperor Nero for now, probably.]
I thought it would be a nice way to remember her, giving my new partner a nickname based on something she loved so much.
no subject
Hm... Roman mythology. Maybe Venus?
video
Well... umm, I've heard a few people say that they gave their partners names here, but back where I come from we didn't really do that.
I mean, Mom and I called my brother's Agumon "Agu-chan" sometimes and when my partner hatched I called him "Puu-chan" before he digivolved and told me what his name was. But those were... well, not the same thing. Everyone else called them by the species name.

What kind of Digimon is your partner, by the way?

[She turns the D-Terminal to go show off her partner. And well, he's a really big pink bird. Yes, he's almost the same size if not a little bigger than Chika.]
no subject
He looks pretty cute!
no subject
[Chika pulls the D-Terminal back to her, and she's giving Hakuno a little giggle.]
And I don't understand why most of the Digimon I see here are so tiny. It doesn't make a lot of sense.
no subject
You really think they're small? All the ones that look more like animals are larger than normal dogs or cats or birds... it's pretty hard to call them "tiny".

But it kinda still seems weird, since I'm used to a lot of them being Biyomon sized.

[He tilts his head, placing his claws against his chin.]
I don't know if I'd want a nickname, but I guess that's one way Digimon can tell each other apart here!
no subject
[... Huh.]
Yeah, it's a lot easier than just saying "oh hey, that's Hakuno's Lucemon" or "where's Rin's Lunamon?". I don't know how often we'll be interacting with each other's partners, but calling them something else would be a much better way of getting their attention.
no subject
[But on the subject of names, hrmm...]
It probably would be easier. There's another Guilmon here, but Guilmon doesn't really want a new name. Takato created me and came up with my name, so it wouldn't feel right.
no subject
So you're the very first Guilmon? I guess that makes sense, that your name shouldn't change, then.
no subject
[The details are kinda confusing for someone with a simple outlook on life.]
But I know there's lots of toys and cards and video games about us, and, yep! Where I'm from, I'm the only Guilmon because Takato made me up.

I guess it depends on if there are any other people with Dorumon partners here... if not, then there won't really be any confusion, and you won't have to worry about it.
But I know that there's at least one other person with a partner whose species is the same as mine, so... it'll be easier to think of another name, I think.

[Flandre seems to be sitting down somewhere with a table, since both hands seem to be devoted to hugging a floppy-eared Salamon to her chest like a doll.]
I didn't want to call her salmon by mistake, because that would be silly.
[The Salamon in question seems to shrug.]
It doesn't bother me too much.
[A pause, then Hakuno laughs.] Yeah, I guess that would be kind of awkward...
[She rubs at her chin a little with a wingtip--her hands were full, after all.]
...I don't remember. But it sounds pretty!

But uh, I know as many who give 'em names as who don't. Does she want one?
