Second Blade (Video/Action)
*Jin is sitting by the Reverse River, which is audible in the background as he addresses his D-Terminal. Veemon is off behind him, splashing around in the water.*
A few of my recent conversations have left me curious about a couple things. All of us seem to be from vastly different worlds, but many of us were human even before arriving here. I've also met a couple people who are from the far past relative to myself, so here's my question: how many of you are from Lo-ahem, Earth?
Something else I've noted is that despite our differing origins, we're all capable of understanding each other. Yet I've also seen evidence that someone I know may be speaking a language I shouldn't be able to understand more than a few words of. If you don't mind, could you tell me what language you're currently speaking?
As a courtesy, I'll start by answering my own questions. I was born on Old Miltia, a planet in an entirely different galaxy from Earth, and I'm speaking my native language of Miltian.

And.... Japanese. I was kinda surprised to see so many Americans that knew it, guess this makes more sense.

As it happens, Japanese is one of the languages I'm fluent in. But still, it's not what I hear when you speak.

Kinda makes you wonder if the digimon have a language of their own too.

*Oh, yeah, the kid commented after he gave the year, didn't he?*
At the very least, they seem to have their own written language.

Not exactly, the planet itself still exists, theoretically. Otherwise, it would make my people's desire to return one day a little absurd, don't you think? But there was...an incident. An experiment gone wrong, it threatened all life on the planet. Even when those who had sworn to guard the object that had been the subject of the experiment fled the planet with it, the danger was still there. As a result, the planet and surrounding area were evacuated. Unfortunately, the result is that now nobody's exactly sure of the precise location of our homeworld and many believe the path to have been blocked due to the incident.

...are there people here who weren't people before they came here? Other than the digimon, I mean?

There's also cyborgs, which were formerly human but were modified with mechanical parts and revived after their deaths, and droids, entirely mechanical entities that nonetheless possess quite a bit of individuality. Some would argue that Life Recycling Variants also qualify, as their DNA can differ greatly from that of a natural human, but in reality they're just ordinary people who had some modifications performed on them before their births and thus are a little...unusual in some ways.
