[There's a gray haired young man on the screen! Yay for more newbies. He is sitting down outside the apartment building, an Elecmon curled in his lap. The rabbit-frog-bird thing is making a dull buzzing noise like powerlines, his fan-tail sparkling. Almost like he's purring. Yu bows slightly at the camera]

It's nice to meet you all, thank you for having me. My name is Yu Narukami. Please take care of me while I adjust to all of this.

[HOW ARE YOU SO CALM YU. Well taking the time to read the letter and chat with his new partner has answered a lot of his questions- and if any of his friends are here they will see this, so no need to bellow about it. No reason to be rude, right? He sits back up, and as if feeling the shift Elecmon rolls over onto his back, showing his white belly, which Yu starts petting]

My new friend here said his name is Elecmon, but after looking around I think this might be a species name. I asked if he was alright with a nickname and he doesn't seem to really care either way. Is that a common thing here? I don't want to give him a name and make him uncomfortable with his own kind.

[Elecmon peeks an eye open, seeming to finally notice he's on camera. He rolls over, ears drooping as he slinks away.]

I've started to lose track, uh...three months, maybe?

[He winces]

Is there a leader or anything like that here?

Aside from the one who wrote the welcome guide--such as it is--I don't think I've ever heard of any definite leader.

Hmm... too bad. I guess we'll just have to do our best, huh?

If it makes you feel better, it hasn't seemed like a complete disaster without anyone leading.

That IS comforting. And leading some people is like wrangling cats. Sometimes they just do better on their own.

And some people just don't want anyone leading them, period.

True, but sometimes it makes it easier to focus on one goal. It really can go either way.

I guess ultimately the best we can expect is people just working together in general.

Has that been an issue?

Isn't it usually, with enough people in a room together?

Okay fair enough. [he laughs lightly]</small. But to the point of physical fights or people running off?

Not that I've heard of so far.

The letter mentioned something about the partners being able to 'evolve', what does that mean exactly? I get that they change forms but... is it permanent? Does this bother them at all?

That...well, it's kind of weird. It doesn't seem to bother them--actually, they make it look pretty easy. It'd probably be easier if I could show you, hang on.

[He leaned offscreen and waved over Palmon, who walked over with a sandwich stuffed in her mouth.]

Whffr mr'r?

...Swallow that first. [:|] Then could you change to Wizardmon for a minute? I'm trying to demonstrate something. [The plant apparently swallowed the entire thing whole, not missing a beat.]

You'll owe me another sandwich.

Fine. [As her partner pressed his hand to his face with an exasperated sigh, Palmon changed form with little fanfare save for a display of shifting light and data.] It's pretty fascinating. I'm not sure I understand how or what the catalyst is other than these digivices, but the whole process is remarkable. [He paused, glancing back to Wizardmon--who gave the camera a slight wave.] It doesn't hurt or anything, right?

Not in the slightest. Rather tingles a bit, actually.

[Yu's eyes widen. It reminds him a little of persona fusion, just without another person.]

Isn't it? Even I've never seen anything like it before.

If it's that easy Elecmon hopefully will be able to do it too. If it's true that only the digimon can fight I'd like to be useful as soon as possible.

Yeah, that's true as far as I've seen. [Which was a little closer to what Waver was used to, but still more than a little frustrating.] It took a little while for Palmon to be able to do it, so I'm really not sure if there's any set timeline.

Elecmon can take it at his own pace, it's alright. [He smiles at the rabbit-like creature, who covers his face]

He seems pretty quiet. You might have gotten lucky--I got stuck with a partner that's constantly nagging me about one thing or another at home.

[Wizardmon frowned (though it was hard to tell behind that collar) and took off his hat, dropping it on Waver's head and leaving him to flail under the much too large cranial accessory.]

Perhaps if you remembered to eat and sleep properly like a normal human, I wouldn't have to.

Well having someone that cares enough to pester you isn't always a bad thing.

Waver doesn't really have many people to do that, so someone certainly has to.

That's quite enough, thank you! [Waver finally managed to remove the oversized and tattered hat, somehow fuming and looking entirely nonthreatening both at once.]
