Okay, okay I know some people might not care for this kind of stuff, I'm sorry, but please bear with me. I'm still trying to work with that gadget we have for this network, like if it has video recording without having to make it public.

Light, can you hold this for me?

[As the camera shifts perspective, we can see that Hope is standing beside a jeep. With a confused look on his face.]

This is not a car. Is this supposed to be a car?

How should I know? You're the human.

But cars in Cocoon aren't like this. Or even in Gran Pulse. It's big and bulky-- is it even efficient? This is just... it really looks like old technology. [No Hope, it's a modern jeep. You're just from futureland.

With a bit of grunting he pops the hood and peers into the engine. ... And makes a huge face because how the heck can this thing even run when all these components. Well, only one way to find out. He takes off his gloves (but not his wrist bandanna, oh no) and starts getting his hands dirty with the engine. His Renamon makes an affronted noise because what the hell.]

[Weird question.]

It's to convert the energy in the engine into mechanical energy in the drive shaft and wheels. It's what creates the force to drive the pistons in the engine. I mean, there's some electrical cars coming out, but it's not this one.

Not efficient or even clean, but it's what we have that works. [Even the Batmobile had to fuel up.]

Is electricity what cars in Cocoon use to operate?

Because something has to generate it.

You mentioned the car looked like old tech. It looks modern to me. What year are you from?

[Oops.]

I thought that was the name of some city I hadn't heard of. [Some future-city, of course.] Same with Gran Pulse?

[He almost wants to laugh-- he'd sure hope the worlds had cities in them.]

And the year? [Still curious about that, though.]
