[he pauses, reminding himself that Waver is... probably British? Or at least European of some sort.] One of the founding deities of Japan. It's complicated.

[A pause and he smiles]

[Born and raised in London, if the accent was any indication. But if nothing else, he'd done a hell of a lot of mythological research during the war.]

I think I've heard the name before. Either way, you kind of have me there.

Everyone here has some kinda story... even those not hanging out with great kings or ancient gods.

Though, at some point I'd be interested in hearing this one in better context. If you're ever up for it.

[Waver hesitated, glancing around uncertainly as he tried to find where exactly to begin.]

...When I summoned a Servant I was expecting someone sensible, or at least reasonable. Instead, I got Rider. The first thing he did after I summoned him was to take an atlas and a copy of the Iliad from a bookstore. We're bloody lucky it was after midnight and no one was around to see anything.

[He pressed a hand to his head, exasperated.]

The Holy Grail War is supposed to be a secret kind of affair--knowing a Servant's identity means one can determine their weaknesses. But he charged all over the place like a blasted idiot, shouting his name for half of Fuyuki to hear at every possible turn! Not to mention he decided it would be a good idea to watch Saber and Lancer fight from the top of a bridge, I thought I was going to die!

[With a small 'hmph' sound, Waver crossed his arms and frowned. Whether he meant the sudden minor rant or not, it seemed he was determined to cover up any actual sentiment.]

...He really was an absurd amount of trouble. I doubt I'll be forgetting that kind of impression anytime soon.
