Mission 4: Repeat performances (Early morning, at the start of Dante's trip.)

*This post is brought to you from the road to Veridian City Milleniummon's castle. At first it's nothing but the dark red and black of the inside of Dante's coat pocket, along with the sounds of footsteps and shifting cloth. That lasts only a few seconds before the feed cuts to another set of memories. It shuts off with Dante none the wiser that his D-T was even on.*

No. No second chances. If this were back home, my eighteenth birthday would be the end of my life as I know it. I have this awesome opportunity to have a really good birthday and it has to be perfect. It has to be, Dante. You don't understand.

Then it's a good thing I've never been known to throw a lousy party, now ain't it?

[ She stares at him, pursing her lips for a moment before relenting and sighing softly. ]

But you're gonna have to tell me what kinda cake you like, first. Aside from the sexy kind.

What, you're gonna jump out of it? Well shit man, way to limit me.

Still debatin' on that...but not if you're askin' for an ice cream cake.

That's a tough choice. but while I like ice-cream cake, its not my favorite. My favorite is actually strawberry jell-o cake. But I don't know if they've got anything like that. Barring that, I like really rich chocolate cakes and red velvet cakes. I do not, however, like cream-cheese icing. I like frothy, sugary frosting.

I ever tell you you got sweet taste? I know a guy that's damn near a god in the kitchen, maybe I'll ask 'im if he's any good at bakin'.

Of course I've got sweet taste. I'm fuckin' marvelous. When are you gonna catch on?

Seriously. *snicker* What were they doing before? This place was probably a black and white silent film.

Got the black and white part right. The place went full blown Casablanca on us a bit before ya got here.

Man. Another glitch i guess? This place is a total trip. I would have liked to see that though. I love old movies. Mostly horror flicks, but I really love Chaplin...

Was pretty fun, 'cept for the smoke all over the place. Enough to make a guy sick.

Ew. that's not cool. Eh, still must have been pretty fun. Better than memories ending up aired for the world. Rude.

[ She sighs and scratches the side of her nose, glancing off to the side before shrugging. ]

Hey babe, I'm gonna go take a shower and grab a nap before heading back out to explore some more. Been lookin' for work and trying to get a better idea of the place. I've spent enough time on the line with you. You should feel safe now, knowin' I'm still here and not just a dream.

Pretty sure I ain't quite this lucky even in my dreams. But I guess we'll be findin' out how lucky I really am when I get back.
