[The feed clicks on to show the D-terminal in a dim room, and from a pretty funny angle. Lopmon's not on camera, but he's trying to shove it into Kovu's hands, and Kovu's shoving it right back, trying to keep himself off the camera too.]

C'mon Kovu, there are people worried about you! Say something!

Why would they be worried when they're all mad at me?!

How do you even know they're mad at you? You wouldn't let any of them talk! They'd only be mad at you 'cause you haven't talked to any of them for so long!

[Kovu suddenly rushes forward, his jaw and goatee now framed in the upper portion of the screen. His snarl can only be partly seen, but it's perfectly visible.]

All right, smart guy, how do you know?!

[Lopmon stumbles back, and the D-terminal falls to the floor.]

You turned it on?!

It's getting scary how much we're alike. I don't suppose your whole family got banished too?

I don't have a family. Not a biological family anyway. I was raised in an orphanage.... kind of like a pretend pride where a mother lion cares for cubs without a family. They care for them until another family takes them in or they just grow too old for the den.

Hate to say it, but that sounds kinda nice from where I'm standing.

I guess it wasn't so bad. I didn't stay though.

... personal reasons. So instead the.. er Mate of the lioness who ran the den took myself and Seifer... another guy who's here to this school. It taught us to become mercenaries.

[It's been a while since Kovu's run into a word he doesn't know. He had almost forgotten how little he's learned of humans.]

... Killers for hire. Not all of our missions are like that, but we are trained to endure the worst.

...Oh.

[That makes Kovu fall silent.]

[Kovu really doesn't have any room to judge. A killer is exactly what he was supposed to be, he just never actually got there. Not to mention his status in the food chain.]
