Why? I don't understand what all this was supposed to accomplish on their part. If we were given 'false' partners- [with a heavy emphasis on 'false' suggesting he thought that was a load of nonsense] -what was the reasoning for it? It can't be just to try to spread that virus among all of us...the planning and effort seem too elaborate for just that outcome.

More than that, if they're replicas, so to speak, why do they have free will? [He waved a hand behind him, and Palmon shrugged at the camera as though to say 'hell if I know'.] If I didn't already know which of these two I'd met first, it'd be bloody hard to tell. I would assume most of you can say the same.

[Waver shook his head with a short but heavy sigh, setting aside his cup of tea and fiddling with the Crest of Tenacity around his neck.]

On top of all that, I realized I...m-maybe I should learn how to fight. I don't think I'll be any good at it and I'm definitely sure I'd rather not have to, but if anyone can help me I'd be grateful. If we get stuck in some kind of mess like that again, I don't want to slow anyone down.

Well, I'm not Rowan, but I can probably teach you a little if you want. I kinda had to self teach myself how to use a sword so...

Probably not the one-and-a-half hands or bastards like I do. But something lighter? Yeah, with practice. Though I don't have as much experience there.

It's not literal. It means it can be used one handed or two handed. Technically that and 'bastard' are the same thing, but I tend to think of the heavier ones as right bastards so-

I don't actually have a working knowledge of swords. Or weaponry in general. At all.

I didn't either, before I got tossed in the TV. I've also fought with golf clubs, bats and bus stop signs. All you need is some physical training and a willingness to get dirty.

That and a suitable weapon. Someone my size has no place swinging around a two-handed sword like Excalibur.

Rider used a kind of short sword--well, relatively short...I wonder if there's anywhere I can get something like that.

Dunno. I haven't been able to find a sword myself yet. Though I haven't really looked hard either. Digimon either come with weapons or don't, so I guess it makes sense they wouldn't do much metalwork.

If I had access to my Magic Circuits I might at least have been able to form some kind of loose framework with Wizardmon's help...

Never mind. That's not an option anymore, so I shouldn't complain about it.

Doesn't matter. If you can't do it one way you just work around it.

In theory we don't need the digimon, just the knowledge. And between the library and the people here I'm sure we could find it.

I'd say having a Digimon's assistance would help. In the practical sense, I mean--it sounds more efficient to find one that can breathe fire than build an entire forge for metalworking.

Point. And I'm sure plenty would help. Especially if it's to protect the city. There are plenty of swordsmen here that have no weapons.

Most likely, yeah. And if something like all that comes up again, it'd be in everyone's best interest to have as many people defending this place as we can.

Agreed. I mean, it'll probably come to nothing, but I'd rather be working towards SOMETHING.
