[The camera is focused on Kovu, who's sitting on his bed, hunched over with his hands in his lap. He seems to be scowling, but it's hard to tell from this angle. Lopmon's obviously the one holding the D-Terminal, since his voice is loud and clear.]

Quite handsome, house trained, prone to acts of aggression but actually sweet and kind, very protective.

Needs hugs on a regular basis.

[Lopmon shouts as Kovu throws a pillow right at his head, bowling him over and sending the D-Terminal flying. The feed clicks off when it hits the ground.]

I-It'd...probably be for the best. I can imagine she should probably have some apologizing to do as well.

Would you like some company? I-I mean...if it'd be easier for you...

[His head falls.]

In case I say the wrong thing.

[She gently places her hand on his.] Try not to think about what could go wrong. Just think about apologizing to her for what happened, and showing her how much you mean it.

[The sudden contact makes him gasp and pull away. He swallows a lump in his throat when he realizes what he just did, and breathes slowly.]

I'll try.

[She draws back a little when he pulls away, but doesn't say anything. She simply smiles gently.]

I'll talk to her too...get her to tone it down a bit.

That'd be great.

[He pauses for a few seconds, trying to decide if he wants to keep her here, or just wants to be alone again.]

Did you...make it here all right?

[She smiles, making a note to talk to Trixie sometime soon.

At his question she pauses, hesitating for just a moment.]

For the...most part...Though I think I worried a lot of people when I was...sent home for a while...

[And he didn't even notice...]

How long?

A...A-About a week, so I heard...a-at least, a week here...

A week...

[He missed her being gone a whole week?]

What was it like? Going back home?

I-It was...I-It was strange. It was like I hadn't left at all.

[thescaronhisface]

Wh...What is it like there?

[He actually...he's never asked anyone about their homes before. Hollyleaf had volunteered what she told him...]

B...B-Back in my world?

I-It's...It's nice. There are a lot of...people there who are willing to help others, and for the most part people are pretty friendly.

There have been some...problems, of course. But I like it there...

That does sound pretty nice.

[Then again, just about anything would be better than here, or the Outlands.]

[She nods.] Well, as I mentioned, it's not perfect. A lot of things happen, and there have been some people who have tried to destroy it...But they're always stopped, one way or another.

[thescaronhisface]

[That sounds more like home.]

I guess nowhere can be peaceful all the time.

[strengthinkindness]

Well, no...There's always going to be problems. But that's part of life.

If things were peaceful all the time, then how would anyone know whether that's a good thing?

[He grew up in almost the opposite situation. Peace was something the Pride Landers had, not the Outlanders.]

I don't know. I'm not that used to things being peaceful.

Mm...I see...

[She had thought about as much. She'd always been afraid to ask, but it always seemed that he'd had a hard life.]

Living in peace all the time...can be as bad as living without it. Because if it was always peaceful...there wouldn't be mistakes, or room to grow...

There...has to be a balance, somehow...

[That sounds like something Nala would try to tell him.]

I guess...it'd get boring.

[But what's worse? Boring...or fighting for your life?]

[She nodded, then couldn't help a small laugh.]

Although too much chaos isn't good either...something a friend of mine back home is still trying to...get used to...

[Her face is making Kovu's curiosity get the better of him.]

Do they just keep stirring up trouble?

He's very...mischievous...I actually first met him when he was still a bad guy. He has amazing and terrible powers, which he used to try to destroy our home, throwing it into chaos and turning me and my friends against each other...

Even after we became friends, though, he still can't help causing a little chaos here and there...My friends back home don't really appreciate it, and they always worry that he'll go back to being a bad guy...

You can't really blame them, though.

[strengthinkindness]

Not too much...I mean I do understand that could happen...But it's also not fair that they don't give him a chance. If they keep treating him with suspicion because they think he'll turn on us, he might do that just because they expect him to.

Sometimes people act the way they do because they're never given a chance to do otherwise...
