22 Butterflies | Video (Possible Action)

[Sprout's face appears onscreen when the feed comes on, looking a bit confused.]

So uh...anyone else having this problem?

[The camera shifts to show Choco trying to calm down a rather frazzled Fluttershy...or at least one could assume it's Fluttershy. The yellow feathered wings are familiar, sure enough, but despite the human clothes, she clearly was not human at the moment. Her flowing tail, the same color as her hair, flicked anxiously as she paced on four hooves instead of two feet. She seemed to mutter an "Oh no..." with each turn, passing by Choco over and over as he tried to talk to her.]

C'mon, Fluttershy...it's nothing to worry about...

[The camera turns back to Sprout.] ...Little help?

((OOC: Can stay video, or can move to action. Most likely she'll be either in her apartment, or on the hospital roof.))

[The dam had finally broken, and she couldn't hold back the sobs as she cried out all her pent-up emotions, everything she'd been holding back since this all started.]

Fluttershy... What're you crying over?

[He's asking it sincerely, knowing if she had a reason it would be a good one, simply because it was bothering her.]

[She sniffled, holding onto him a little tighter.]

I-I w-want...w-we can't...n-not human...

[Even if she managed to to get her words through, the whole thing still sounded stupid in her head, and she was just as embarrassed about it as she was unable to say it.]

[Chris stiffened lightly, then sighed a little. That right there, that was a big part of why he'd been hung up. Maybe even used it as a excuse, in some dark moment, to not see her.

But all of a sudden it changed, and he shifted his head to look at her, while keeping his arms tight.]

That's alright. You're human here, present... present occurrence excluded, o'course. [Weak laugh.] And it doesn't matter anyway.

What you are... it doesn't change who you are.

[She sniffled, tears still streaming down her face as she looked at him.

She still seemed unsure...but more than anything she wanted to believe him. To believe that this didn't have to matter in the end.]

[He looked at her, then his eyes flicked up. And he couldn't help himself, a little curl of her hair- mane? -had come loose, so he gently flicked it with a finger. Turning attention back to her, he chuckled a little.]

I still think you're pretty.

[Majestic, really. A real, visual pegasus is still quite something to behold.]

[She sniffled softly, though couldn't help the blush that spread across her cheeks.

She still couldn't manage to say anything, so instead she gently nuzzled against him, hoping that would be enough.]

[The nuzzle made him sway a little, just with the way he was balanced on the balls of his feet, but he recovered easily enough and placed a hand on her head, between her ears.]

[She nuzzled into his hand, staying that way...just for a little bit longer.

Then, with a soft sigh of regret, she let go, stepping back and letting her hooves back on the ground. She still sniffled a little, and there were still tears...but she looked a little better, at least.]

There. Better already, yeah?

M-Mm...I guess so...

Told you I wouldn't let things not be okay.

[She nodded, wiping away some of the remaining tears.] Y-Yeah...

[He smiled, then decided a lighter subject might be needed. A glance over her provided the inspiration and he leaned a little to the side, looking down her body.]

So that's your cutie mark, huh?

Hmm...? O-Oh, yes... [She moved a bit, making it easier for him to see it.] This is my cutie mark...

[He started to move his hand, then paused and drew it back, closing his fingers.]

You get it for discovering your special talent, right?

[She smiled and nodded.] Mm...I received mine when I...discovered I could communicate with animals, when I was still just a fil-...wh-when I was younger...

That's pretty awesome.

Any particular reason it's butterflies though, that you know of?

Well, for the most part, a pony's cutie mark has to relate to their special talent. Since mine is related to animals, my cutie mark came out as butterflies.

[She pauses, thinking for a moment.] Although...it might also be because butterflies were the first animals I learned about, when I first left Cloudsdale...A swarm of butterflies actually saved me...

Really? I'd like to hear about that, if you don't mind.

Mm...no, I don't mind...

See, back home, a lot of Pegasi live in a city called Cloudsdale...As you can imagine, the city is made high up in the clouds, a long way off the ground.

In Cloudsdale, many young fillies and colts are sent to Summer Flight Camp, to help them strengthen their wings and flying. I...wasn't a very strong flier, even then...I was also pretty clumsy, and was teased a lot by some of the other pegasi...these two colts in particular liked calling me "Klutzershy"...

[She pauses, frowning a little as some particularly unpleasant memories filled her mind. But she shook her head and continued on.]

One day, while they were teasing me, Rainbow Dash came to help me, and tried to get the colts to leave me alone. They ended up challenging her to a race...

I was the who was supposed to wave the flag for them to start...But when I did, and they took off, the sped by me so fast that I fell off the cloud and started falling to the ground. And since I wasn't a good flier, my wings weren't strong enough for me to stop.

Just before I hit the ground, though...I landed on a swarm of butterflies. And it was the first time I had ever seen them. Butterflies don't fly as high as Cloudsdale, and I had never been on the ground before...

[Sometime around here Chris shifted so he was sitting on the roof instead, listening raptly to her story.]

Wow, that's amazing!

So that's how you were introduced to animals?

[She nodded.] It was my first time seeing all the animals, and it was so wonderful...! I... [A small, somewhat embarrassed laugh.] I even sang a song about it...

While I was down there, though, there was suddenly this loud...explosion...with a rainbow of colors. We call it a Sonic Rainboom. But the noise had startled all the animals, who all ran off to hide.

And...I felt bad for them...So when the noise and color died down, I comforted the animals, and asked them to come out. That's when I realized that I could somehow communicate with them.

And that's what my cutie mark appeared...

Oh wow... Can't even imagine what that'd be like!

[Wait a sec.]

You said there was a song?

It was quite an experience.
