themainframe | 01 Butterfly (Video)

[The video comes to life suddenly, shaking a little as the device is inspected by the young woman. It's pointed off to the side, then up, then down at the ground, before being righted.

When she finally notices it, she blinks curiously.]

Oh, Lopmon...what does that mean?

[The video moves a little, and the rabbit-like Digimon's face appears right under hers. He looks into the screen thoughtfully, then looks up at her.]

You've activated the video feed.

The...video feed...?

Yeah. Right now it's transmitting a video to everyone's D-Terminals.

[Even though the video isn't directly focused on her, anyone who's paying attention will notice her eyes widening.] E...e-everyone's...?

Anyone who's got one.

[The young woman gives a small squeak, and suddenly the video is shaking once again. Blurred images of the ground, the sky, any nearby scenery flash by in rapid succession as though the camera was spinning.

There's a brief flash of Lopmon approaching before the camera is once again steadied, focused on the ground as his feet touch down. The video shakes a little more as the device is turned over, and there's a sheepish smile on Lopmon's face when it comes back into view.]

S-sorry about that everyone. Fluttershy is a bit...well, shy.

[He glances back towards his partner; though his head takes up most of the screen, a little farther back are a pair of eyes staring back at him, peaking over a curtain of light-yellow feathers.

Lopmon sighs.]

W-well, actually...the monsters aren't that bad. W-we...don't have these kind exactly back home, b-but...they're a little more f-familiar...

Oh cool! I'm a big animal guy myself so if you think of them as just another cool species, it's like discovering a new type of lizard or bear or...flying hamster.

[She actually hadn't thought of it that way, but somehow the idea was more comforting. She glanced down at wherever Lopmon was, a brighter smile appearing on her face.]

Aha! Animal lover? You would LOVED hanging out with me back home. I could turn into ANY animal.

R-really? [She seems a little excited now.]

Y-yeah uh..,doesn't seem to be um...working here...

[his voice cracks a little but he tries to cover it in a cough]

I could be birds, fish, cats, dogs, even bugs. It's...it was the coolest power ever!

Th-that sounds really exciting...

[Though her voice is still soft, it's definitely more audible now than it was previously.]

B-but...you can't do it now?

Ah...no. I mean...not really no.

Seems you're not the only one though. That Flash kid...

Kid Flash, yeah I guess whatever brought us here took my powers...so...that's lame.

[Fluttershy's silent for a moment, thoughtful. Then she glances off to where Lopmon is.]

I-is...is that why I'm...different too?

did you lose powers too?

[She shakes her head slightly, hesitating for a moment.]

W-well, back home...this...[She gestures to herself.] isn't how I...normally look.

Really? Oh...well no biggie um...how do you normally look?

...I can't decide if that's a rude question or not. It feels rude...

[If she's offended by the question, she doesn't show it ~~but most likely she's not~~.] W-well...n-normally, I...I-I'm a...

A pegasus...

[takes a moment to process this]

A...pegasus?

Like...hooves and fur and wings?

[uses his hands to mime out flapping wings]

That kind of Pegasus?

[a slow grin creeping along his face, green eyes bright]

[A nod.] Th-that's why I...have these...

[Her light-yellow wings flutter slightly behind her.]

SO COOL!!

Can you still fly with them?! DUDE! I never met a Pegasus before! This is awesome!!!

[She jumps a little at his exclamation, but calms down again when she realizes that he's actually excited by the information.

She smiles, a little embarrassed.]

W-well I...I-I'm not sure...I haven't tried flying with them yet...
