[Daisuke rubs at his eye. He still looks exhausted even a few days after the Beemon were all gone. Veemon is even worse as his form can be seen in the background, passed out on the bed and sleeping hard. Daisuke couldn't really blame his partner, the little guy had gone through multiple evolutions and fought several different Beemon...some of which had been of MUCH higher levels.]

Hope everyone is starting to recover okay. The city still looks pretty banged up though. It got me thinking about the times my friends and I had to rebuild the Digital World after things like this happened. I know we can't rebuild all the towns out there that the Beemon hit, at least, not yet. But it would probably be a good idea to start working on repairing this place.

Clean up won't be too hard, trust me I've done it plenty of times. If we work together and get the resident Digimon involved it'll go pretty quickly. The West side of town was hit the hardest so I'll meet anyone interested over there tomorrow.

[He flashes a grin.] Snacks are on me for whoever agrees to come help out.

[At the mention of snacks Veemon snorts in the background and sits up, bleary eyed.]

Did somebody say snacks?

[Daisuke laughed as Veemon's stomach rumbled.] I'll be back, first I need to feed Veemon before he tries to eat his pillow or something...again.

[ He'd notice if the city was wrecked and rebuilt multiple times and he'd been under the impression that the humans here were all brought here at roughly the same time. Cleanup duty can wait. ]

Nah. I'm just one of those Chosen that was...Chosen before?

[That doesn't sound right even if it is true. He continues.]

I've been to the Digital World before this adventure and part of what we did there was rebuild stuff when it was destroyed by other Digimon.

[ He frowns firmly. ]

What else is similar between that time and now? Is it just the rebuilding?

[He thinks about it.]

Not a lot. I guess the Digimon attacking...but when that happened they were either controlled by Dark Rings or were control spire digimon. I don't think that's the case this time cause I haven't seen any spires to be used.

Controlled? You mean completely? Or did they still have some semblance of will left?

Yeah. It was against their will and the only way to get them back to normal was to break the rings. I didn't see anything like that on these digimon that attacked us though.

If it's been a while, maybe those rings have gone through some technological advances. Maybe they're chips or somethin' now.

Hmmm. I didn't think about that. It would still raise the question of who is controlling them though. The last person that used them was kind of proud of his creations and boasted about it to everyone.

Feels like I know how that story ended.... But who's to say that if this theory's even in the ballpark that whoever's behind it didn't learn from their predecessor's mistakes? An effective villain doesn't gloat or reveal themselves to the enemy.

Well we did later find out that K--that he was being manipulated by an outside force. It could be the same thing I guess. Maybe the next time this happens we can try to see if there is a chip involved then.

...Great. You sound confident that this is gonna be a common occurrence. This whole digimon going crazy and attacking thing.

Heh. Well, it did happen a lot to my group. And Taichi told us stories about when it happened to his group. I haven't heard all of the stories from Takato, Takuya, or Masaru's groups but they had to be called to the digital world for a reason and usually it involves digimon rampaging at some point or being evil, if they're that kind of digimon.

...So now what? With the Beemon gone, does that mean our job's finished and the way out of here's just gonna magically open?

Probably not. It's never THAT easy. That was just one attack and the Beemon didn't seem like the kind of monsters that would be able to cause the warp in all the other worlds that Koushirou mentioned.

Nah, we're gonna have to find more answers before the way home is open for us.

By doing what? Just waiting around until some other crazed digimon attacks the city?

Well we should probably fix this place up in case that happens. But it might also be a good idea to have groups go out and explore the Digital World. After all, we aren't gonna find answers here but the Digital World is also pretty dangerous.

It almost sounds like a waste of time... rebuilding this place just so digimon can barge on in and destroy it. But... you're right. It ain't like we're gonna find answers if we sit here and do nothin'.

It can feel like that sometimes.

We had to rebuild this one bridge, like, 10 times because a digimon kept attacking it.

But that's not the point. We have to rebuild, otherwise it'll just get worse and worse.

Well, ain't the two of you persistent....

...I'm glad the two of you are a perfect fit for each other.

[ Although he can't just completely disregard these two. After all, he was able to get information out of them, and it might be useful some day. ]

Heh. Veemon and I get that a lot.

And nah, the city doesn't owe us. We do this cause it's the right thing to do.

Ah. You're the naive and innocent kinda person with a good heart.
