Yeah. It's not a lot of people but too many to not be creepy as hell.

It raises many interesting questions, doesn't it? I don't have many theories beyond the fact that somehow, this world managed to download your bodies and your consciousnesses and convert them into "data" so you could exist here, as actual entities.
