[Video turns on, but it’s a Digimon with the D-Terminal. Namely, Fanbeemon, and he’s in distress.]

So I need a favor. Can someone please get her attention already? She's been at that toy of hers nonstop for over an hour now. [His stomach growls very loudly, hence his cry for help.]

[And what crime against his hunger is she committing? She is laying on the ground, her rifle prepped up with the scope removed. Several tools along with miscellaneous pieces were layed out carefully on a dust blanket next to her. ~~don’t worry she removed the bullets she has rubber ones loaded instead~~]

[She pulls back on the trigger a few times, getting nothing more that disappointed clicks.]

The connections are there, but still not getting any power. So the source is the problem...

[True, they've been there for awhile now as Yoko took the gun apart and inspected every piece. But it's not like she was doing it blindly.]

Yoko you said we could get something to eat… [He groans pathetically. Rightfully, Yoko ignores the drama queen's whining. Reattaching the leftovers, Yoko went on to look down the scope.]

The scope still works. Good, at least that I can use. [Pushing herself up with a bit of a grunt, Yoko sits herself upright cross-legged. She reached for a screwdriver and proceeded to make sure everything was secured. Okay now she can half-pay attention to Fanbeemon.] Y'know, you could be helping out instead of bothering everyone over the comm-device. Like gathering some food and water or looking for shelter for the night.

[Well first thing, shocked she knows how a communication device works.]

I can't go out and get food you're the one with the cash. And the way into the room.

What difference does that make?

[Second thing, shocked she knows that but doesn’t know the importance of cash.]

Because you need money to buy food. And we already have a place to sleep for the night,that’s what the room assignment is for.

[Someone who’s lived most of her life underground in a place where everyone had a job to do and monetary exchanges wasn’t a thing here.] ...Seriously?

[Fanbeemon sighs before turning back to the camera.]

Can someone else teach her how to breath please? I think her brains went to her breasts.

You little-! [And the feed cuts. Someone may or may not have a big red whelp where a screwdriver was thrown.]

Yeah, I know. He's told me that fifteen times already.

I'm used to things like him trying to kill me, so 'make friends' isn't the first thing that comes to mind for me.

[He raises an eyebrow at that.]

Interesting. Usually the things that try to kill me are a little less ... adorable.

Well they're not exactly like the beastmen I've seen [they do look a lot fluffier] but it's still a little off putting.

Beastmen? [Never heard of them before, but given he's already hopped universes today, is that so surprising?]

The things we've been fighting back home. Think like a mix between animals and people that attack humans.

[Well, half of that sounds familiar.]

Fighting, huh? I take it given the size of that gun you're a part of that.

[Someone is always attacking humanity somewhere.]

Uh huh. It's actually for use against the gunmen they pilot. The armor plating is really thick, and this rifle is one of the weapons we have that's powerful enough to pierce it.

[It can't ever be just a nice, peaceful dimension, can it?]

I'll just, ah, pretend I know what a gunman is and act impressed.

Oh right- [Had to explain this before too.] Gunmen is a mecha, a giant robot that's piloted from the inside.

Sounds like something from home. [It's a lot bigger than an Atlas, but he doesn't know that.] Still, a rifle with the power to punch through all that armor plating ... impressive.

[Way bigger. And they keep getting bigger.]

It's from an old weapon storehouse our village was built ontop of. And since I have the best shot in the village, I'm allowed to keep it.

[That gets a certain smile from him.]

A marksman, eh?

[She smirks back. She's allowed to get cocky every once in awhile.]

That's right. Don't know a single person that can outshoot me. [This could get messy.]

Well-- [A little cockiness creeping in to his own voice] not to brag about it, but where I'm from, I wrote the book on long range. Not saying that you don't know how to handle a gun, just that some of us know how to make it dance.

You've had time to write? Must be nice to have the free time. [A challenger approaches.] You pick up or a thing or two when survival's on the line. No one can pull off the shots I've made.

[That gets a chuckle out of him]

You're not the only one who's had to fight their way out of certain death.

What do you say we just skip all this posturing crap, and get right to the part where we find out who's better?

Isn't that going to be a little hard? Considering neither of our equipment works, we can't really get a competition going can we?

A place like this, I'm sure there's a carnival with a shooting gallery or something.

You know, a carnival. Game booths, cheap snacks, crappy rides ...?

Nope never heard of 'em. [Maybe it's something people did in the past? Maybe?] But they have working guns, right?

Usually it's either an air rifle or a .22, nothing flashy but it'll do for targets.

Good to know I won't be getting rusty while my rifle is down. Alright we have the equipment, so what's the ground rules?

Fifteen targets, whoever has the best time to hit them all at say ... 400 yards wins? Every miss is a two second penalty?

So 15 shots then, no problem. [She knows she can make the shots, a time trial on the other hand-]
