There's something I'm trying to figure out.

[A slightly bruised but quickly recovering Waver could be found on the network today. His right hand was raised to his head thoughtfully, displaying the mostly faded remnants of red markings that were once burned into the back of it.]

Could there really be something that passes for magecraft in this world? Not that I'm complaining, considering Palmon's second form is perfect for me, but I'm just wondering about the implications.

If there's a species of Digimon clearly classified as some sort of magus, just what qualifies as the 'magic' they're using? Some lines of code or circuitry? And if that's the case, could it be something people like us could work on utilizing?

...then again, maybe there's not much point in me considering this. [Waver sighed, shaking his head.] I don't know much about computers or programming, so I guess even if it was possible, I wouldn't be the one to figure it out.

[Someone really misses his magecraft, apparently.]

Yeah, her--where I come from the Tohsakas are an ancient family of mages, one of the Three Great Families.

Tousaka, on the other hand...I really don't understand her at all.

Does that mean you're from the same world then?

Some things she's talked about suggest she's from a world similar to mine at least, but probably ridiculously far into the future.

...That's the simplest way I can possibly phrase it.

I guess I understand. I figured something like that from talking to my friend Kanji.

He sometimes knew things about me that I never told other people. And talked like he was used to talking to me ...

Not that he ever told me why it was like that ...

Back where I come from, there's a-...let's just call it a 'concept' to simplify it. There's a concept called Second Magic, which is basically the idea that countless parallel worlds exist and can be traveled between. This whole place is more or less an example of Second Magic at work. So maybe both Tousaka and your friend are from worlds slightly different from the ones we know.
