There's something I'm trying to figure out.
[A slightly bruised but quickly recovering Waver could be found on the network today. His right hand was raised to his head thoughtfully, displaying the mostly faded remnants of red markings that were once burned into the back of it.]
Could there really be something that passes for magecraft in this world? Not that I'm complaining, considering Palmon's second form is perfect for me, but I'm just wondering about the implications.
If there's a species of Digimon clearly classified as some sort of magus, just what qualifies as the 'magic' they're using? Some lines of code or circuitry? And if that's the case, could it be something people like us could work on utilizing?
...then again, maybe there's not much point in me considering this. [Waver sighed, shaking his head.] I don't know much about computers or programming, so I guess even if it was possible, I wouldn't be the one to figure it out.
[Someone really misses his magecraft, apparently.]

[Though well... if this guy used to have magic she doubted he'd be able to get it back.]
But I think it's probably going to be part of whatever Digimon is using it.

...wait, you have Digimon on your world? How'd you end up here?

If digimon can be based on animals and plants and angels it doesn't seem hard to believe that other aspects are considered like wizards or mythical creatures.
Magic probably works differently. It's a new world, new rules. But digital does imply code of some sort. How you hack a world is another question.
[text]
I was talking to someone a while ago that seemed to imply she wanted to break into and hack the world somehow...but honestly, I wouldn't know where to start.
[text]
Me neither. I think I have some friends back home crazy or creative enough to figure out a way at some point but they aren't here right now. In the meantime we'll just either have to look for a way or continue doing what we're doing without magic.
[text]
You're right, just...it'd be a little easier if I could use some kind of magecraft again.

Well, for the Masters, at least. Everything else was just normal programming, from what I understood.

[Hm, well if he's still confused after talking to her...] I only really know what I know thanks to what Rin and a few other people told me, so I'm really not the best person to ask about that.
But it's not really magic. It's just... hacking. Manipulating code so that it can change ours or our opponent's stats, or things like that. Rin can do a lot more than just that, so you're really better off talking to her more.
But I don't get it. Magi hate technology. I'd be surprised if half of them owned so much as a phone.

Well, Lucemon might be one I suppose ...
... or maybe not. He is sort of more like an angel.

Have you asked people who know more about these things? I mean codes and computers. They might know more about manipulating things.

[ Don't worry Waver. It's Rin's duty as the Protagonistic Heroine to explain all this shit to you. ]
This world's form of magic is exactly like the code casts back in the Moon Cell. They are magic, but not the magic you know of. Think of it like, let's see, oh! You know the mythological heroes that are called upon to be Servants in the Holy Grail War? It was rumored before they were immune to the archaic magecraft that you practiced, but after everything was dumped into this simulation on the moon, it meant that Masters could fight back too. Although I guess that was more hacking the server than anything else...
[ Seems she's going off on her own tangent here again. ]

On the moon?!

Geez, you're a lot more dense than the last person I had to explain things to. Buy a girl a drink at least before you drive her insane, won't you?

[Then again, maybe it is kinda magical the way some of his version of the Real and Digital worlds work. Guilmon came from a drawing, Digignomes grant wishes...]
I don't really know what magecraft is like, but there could be some kind of Digimon attacks that are like it. I guess Sakuyamon's attacks are kind of like magic. She even carries a staff!

[woah hi guilmon]
Magecraft's basically just magic--the kind people like me can use on any normal day. Watching Wizardmon fight was kind of like the same thing, or at least similar.

[Have a curious head tilt. This is interesting to him because it's so new!]
Guilmon hasn't met lots of Wizardmon, but if they're like wizards, then I bet they've got lots of attacks that are magic-like.
