[Well, there's a face we haven't seen in a while. Shepard is holding the D-Terminal fairly close to her and looking rather grim, and not just her facial expression. Her hair badly needs a trim and a wash, there's dirt on her face and what's visible of her clothes, and she even appears to have lost weight.]
Commander Shepard reporting in.
[Her voice is the same strength as ever, though.]
Looks like randomly ditching me all the way across the damn island by myself is this place's idea of a joke, so I'm going to need an update. And preferably a check in from a few of you, just to make sure nobody's gotten themselves blown up while I was gone.
[This means you, heroic-type friends and boyfriend. There's a quick flash of purple at the bottom of the screen, and Shepard's expression shifts from solid irritation to a sort of rough affection.]
Stop nuzzling me, Cadet.
I've been looking everywhere for you, Commander!
[Shepard pauses before reaching down to pat her partner on the nose. She looks back at the screen.]

[He sighs before finally turning the camera's view to the pillow next to him, where a white and green striped egg sits]

[Egg. That is an egg. And this is related to Monodramon. Who has romantic feelings towards Neku's partner.]
Is that... Did they...
[She turns back to Monodramon.]
Cadet, did you knock up Neku's partner?!

Then Neku starts laughing. It's a reedy too loud sound and instead of squuezing out tears they are flowing freely. An hysteric sound
He knows, in his head, that she will be reborn. But who will she be? Will it even still be Terri? The grief and shock and relief at seeing Shepard (and hurtful memories, partly recalled to Cambell but still open and raw after he tore the scar off for the first time in years) and he just can't stop.]

[Okay, so, this is really, really not what she was expecting. What the hell is happening.]

[Monodramon, though, is over here now.]
I didn't knock anyone around, Commander! No fi...ghts...
[You can see the realization on his face. His voice is quiet.]

[Shepard places a hand gently on her partner's head.]

[Shepard turns her attention back to Neku.]
You guys in your room?

[Expect an upset lizard at your door asap, Neku.]

[He pauses, moving to let Monodramon in. After showing him where her egg is resting, Neku pauses, picking up the hair charm sitting next to it and clipping it onto his laynard, right next to his crest. It's a green and silver flower- the hair charm Renamon had given to her, and what she had been wearing in the castle]

I'll let you guys go, okay? I'll come see you once I've had something to eat and a shower.
[Monodramon, in person, follows Neku over to Terri's egg. Gingerly and mindful of his claws, he picks it up and hugs it gently to his chest. He looks up at Neku with resolve in his eyes.]
Next time, I'll be there to back her up.
