[For most, the face on the video feed today is probably an unfamiliar one, as it belongs to someone who arrived with the recent crowd of new Chosen. He addresses the camera casually, one hand resting in his pockets, shoulders slumped as he leans against the wall of a bricked building.]

All right, Digital World, as far as welcomes go, mine could have been worse. I'll rate it a good six out of ten, though this-- er, world-- has a long ways to go before it can improve that score. And whoever the heck brought us here needs to give us anti-theft devices for these communicators. Geez. . .

[He lets out a wry snort]

I deducted points for the bunny--

-- I'm supposedly partnered with because he's kind of obnoxious.

And he isn't nearly as clever as he thinks it is. [After that, Kaito shoots Elecmon a pointed glance] Anyway, I doubt any of you guys care about my scoring criteria much. And the real reason I'm even using this thing is because I wanna know what progress you've made in finding an exit. I mean, some of you have been here a lot longer than I have, right? You've gotta have something by now.

[A beat]

Such stubborn denial is almost painful to watch. . .

[Kaito sighs in resignation]

Rise already told you that Elecmon is not a bunny.

[Elecmon replies solemnly]

It's no use, my friend. His head is just too thick for him to understand.

I'm sure he isn't that bad if he tried.

[ And now Rise and Elecmon are talking like Kaitou isn't here. Lucemon sighs and tries to get Rise's attention. ]

Miss Rise. I believe he is still listening.

[Kaito sighs and, with a roll of his eys, rests his chin in his hand]

I'm still the one operating the D-Terminal, actually. Don't make me turn it off on you two.

[ Pouts. ] Fine. I was going to help by trying to answer some of your questions, but you had to go and be so rude.

[ Lucemon gives a sigh and a look that said, 'You're being rude too, Rise.' ]

Oi oi, you don't have to be like that. It's not like I'm calling you Bunny.

But Elecmon and I are now friends. Aren't we, Elecmon?

[Elecmon beams. Kaito, on the other hand, addresses Lucemon]

Is it just my imagination, or are they ganging up on me?

[ Lucemon smiled apologetically. ]

Miss Rise sometimes fancies herself a hero of justice.

[ Rise crosses one free in front of her and pouts. ]

Hey! Lucy, I heard that!

What justice is there in getting me to stop calling him Bunny when he started calling me Scrappy first?

You are scrappy.

It still isn't my name.

Elecmon won't do it again, will you, Elecmon?

[ Lucemon looked doubtful. ]

And it would really help if Scrappy tells us his name too.

[There's a pause]

Uuuuuh. . .

[Kaito rolls his eyes]

Scrappy's name happens to be Kaito. Kaito Kuroba, actually. Nice to meetcha, Hero of Justice-san.

Nice to meet you, Kuroba-san.

And my name is Rise. Rise Kujikawa. Hero of Justice-san is a mouthful.

You can call me Rise too, Elecmon.

Kuroba-san's a mouthful too. Just Kuroba, or Kaito. I don't care much for formalities.

[Elecmon beams at the D-Terminal]

Rise ♥ What a lovely name!

Kaito then. Just as long as you call me Rise.

[ To Elecmon. ] Isn't it? Rise likes her name. And this is my partner, Lucy.

I prefer Lucemon, Miss Rise.

[ He is a male and it was embarrassing to be given such a girly name. ]

[His mouth twitches in amusement]

Hooooh, see? You're getting onto me for calling him Bunny when you call yours Lucy.

Eh? But Lucy is Lucy! Lucemon is a mouthful and besides. Lucy is a cute name!~

But Lucy prefers Lucemon.

And Elecmon's just as much of a mouthful as Lucemon is.

[ Turns to Elecmon. ]

How about a nickname, then?

Bunny's a nickname.

I bet Elecmon wants a cool nickname, right?

[. . . o-oh no, with that look on her face, Kaito doesn't have the heart to tease her for naming Lucemon Lucy either]

Maybe he could have two nicknames?
