Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to--

[Shepard turns abruptly and glares at the camera.]

Cadet, turn that off! My birthday was yesterday!

[Monodramon grunts and takes a step back when his partner tries to take the device from him.]

But Commander, you're turning 36! The internet said humans--

I said turn it off!!

[AND OFF THE CAMERA GOES.]

Of course, a funeral! No other ceremony can even compare to the grand one a man or woman's life is commemorated with!

But many happy returns, even so. [ He tilts his head, folding his hands together. ] Shall I size you for a lovely custom-fitted coffin as a gift? Who knows, with whatever all these little ones have in mind, you may soon need one after all~

Children need coffins just as often as any other, if not more. I have buried plenty in my time and will bury plenty more, as fragile and vulnerable as most of them are. Should my services become necessary here... better to see them comfortably tucked away for their eternal rest than left out to rot and feed the crows, isn't it?

Technically, but... Jesus, if anything happens to the kids, I'll handle the cost, okay? Don't talk to them about it while they're still breathing, you'll just scare them.

Ah, very well! I agree. If anything inevitable happens to one of the children I will make the necessary arrangements with you, and shall not speak of the matter further with any of the young ones.

[Shepard sighs. Why is this happening? The military does this back home, and her mother's still alive, it's not like she's ever really had to think about it.]
