004- We need to talk, folks. (video)
[Shepard is clearly actually intending to talk to the network today. She has the D-Terminal balanced on something, and she's standing with her arms crossed over her chest.]
I'd like to take a moment to remind you all that we're all in the same boat here, and it's not a fun boat, no matter how many parades they put on. Try to be understanding of other people, got it? Most of you are good about this, but a few of you seem to need a reminder.
[Yes, this is entirely about what happened with Cam. Shep is disappoint, guys.]
But on a lighter note. Does anyone know how to train digimon?
[In the background, Monodramon pokes his head into the frame and waves.]
They're not soldiers, so I can hardly put the Cadet through basic, but they're not animals either. I get the feeling the techniques I used with my ex-girlfriend's dog won't work here.

I dunno. They aren't soldiers or animals... they're more like kids. So I guess... well how would you train me?

Hello! Is everything okay?
[Yes, he's asking about Cam because Marley isn't around to ask herself.]
Everything's alright now. Last night just got a bit messy.

[ Zidane is actually gonna be on his best behavior for once and put flirting on the backburner (for the moment at least)... because for some reason Shepard reminds him of General Beatrix.. and that lady scares the bajeezus outta him sometimes. ]
I'm a soldier. Friend and backup are far from mutually exclusive.

[That... is that training? She's going to pretend it's training. Although, now that she thinks about it, the idea of putting a Digimon through some sort of boot is tempting...]
You're lucky. Mine is... inappropriately eager to impress me.
[Monodramon whines in the background.]

Not a fun boat indeed... [ he pauses ] I don't see why normal training wouldn't work. They are intelligent enough to understand.
[Audio]
If they behaved more like adults, I'd be fine with that, but I'd feel like I was training a child soldier.

The first Chosen Children had to learn how, maybe they'll give us their secrets if we ask!

You think they put theirs through training?
[They're all just so young.]

We're all in this together. [Stop saying that. Ugh.] I think it's important for everyone to recognize that.

You've got a good attitude about this.

Offering to kill children isn't okay, you know. You're not the only one who reacted poorly.

The Digital World can be rough. We can handle things if you just have faith in us though, we're here to help you guys. Oh...but we need you guys to do it, we can't evolve the same way without our partner.
[Daisuke nods and then continues.] But you're right, they aren't animals. I guess if you're worried about teamwork or something we can improvise. [Daisuke looks thoughtful, closing his eyes even and tilting his head. ] Hmm...but how...

((Edit because Masaru would never say the word "innate" ever and I am dumb))

Be understanding of others-- great. Think of using a rolled up newspaper to tap against the Digimon's nose-- what?]
Have you thought about the training hall? Both of you could run through a few drills there. [Because when he goes, he works when Gabu works. --they don't end up doing much work.]
video; SORRY THIS IS SO LATE
That may work out. Where is it?
[. . .]
And why are you wearing a mask?

...Scratch that. If she finds a way to train them to be quiet, Light will want to know.] Run the basics, or modify it specifically to them. If they're strong, they should be able to adapt.

...but I'm afraid digimon training sounds like an entirely different task altogether.
[Gomamon scoffs, his nose wrinkling a little.]
Pssh, as if we need training. Y'make us sound like we're dumb.
Not dumb. ..Just not obedient, for starters.
Oh yeah? Lesson one to train a digimon: learn when t'keep yer mouth shut!
[video] always okay dude <33
You know, two weeks ago I'd have thought you were crazy, but now? I don't doubt that you grew up with dragons. I'll want stories, Hiccup, that sounds like something out of a fantasy novel.
[But she raises an eyebrow at Gomamon.]
You train soldiers too, you know. Training is just the physical type of teaching.
