[Optimus has been returning from patrol outside of Hospitown, and just... happens upon Whirl at the outskirts. He stops, and, having nonchalantly accepted that he's back in his original form, transforms.

He... stares. The first thought he experiences is "that's it"? Because... this kind of thing is normal where he comes from. Shockwave had this sort of face. The Whirl who was a member of the Wreckers had this face.

But he quickly sets that aside. Some things are not universal constants. He tries to think of how to approach this. Acknowledging Whirl's empurata and pretending it wasn't a factor had potential to offend, and deep in his spark, Optimus knew that he was disrespecting Whirl simply by thinking this way.

He decided he would let Whirl define this moment. He approached the other Cybertronian, raising his hand in greeting]
