V-01 [video] | Preparing for Battle
[Kaldur is wearing a new blue jacket he bought during all the parade festivities. His friendly demeanor that you may have grown accustomed to is replaced by a more serious one. This is Kaldur's game face. He has faced difficult odds before, though the circumstances were different, but he knows that now -- before the Beemon arrive -- is the best time to rally together and set about planning.]
As some of us anticipated, the reality of being here is more than just the parades and games we have experienced the past few days. While the welcoming from the Damemon and the Chosen before us was appreciated, it is now time to focus on the matter at hand. I will not repeat what Koushirou has already informed us of but I would like for us to spend these next two days devising a plan and perhaps forming groups that can work together and ensure everyone's safety during the imminent attack.
I know there are others here with experience in combat situations. We are limited in our resources and abilities, but that does not mean we can sit idly by and do nothing. We have been asked to help and I plan to give it as I have said I would. We were told when we arrived that we might have to face challenges like this as proposed Chosen. Why we were chosen and what it means is still left to be seen. However, I believe we can handle this first challenge, but only if we prepare and work together now as opposed to waiting for the attack to happen.
[Kaldur lets that sink in before continuing on.]
We must also consider our missing friends. Taichi may have wandered off, but I have noticed that others are gone as well. Are the two connected or is there something else at work here? We can only find out if we investigate what happened to Taichi. Koushirou and the chosen before us cannot handle this problem alone. I am not sure about the rest of you, but I would like to be with the group to go out and find Taichi. We should establish who is going and who is staying to protect the city. I ask those who are up to it to please step forward. If you do not feel that you can, there are other ways in which you can help and ensure that this attack does not end badly. That can be discussed as well. Either way, our best bet is to work together now and discuss strategy.
[That's probably the most Kaldur has ever said in one sitting. He bows his head as a sort of farewell. And then gestures behind him, it appears he is standing in front of the main Meeting Hall ]
I believe it would be prudent to put the meeting hall to use. We can set it up as a headquarters and since it is at the center of the city we can make it an easily defensible position for those unable to fight or who wish to stay safe. I do not expect everyone to fight, but if you are willing then we can find something for you to do. I am also open to thoughts from others. After all, I am new to this situation as well.

You're...Kaldur, right? [Heard from Gar, where is that kid?] I want to go with you. I'm not all that great, but...if we're gonna need to go to unexplored places, I've got a lotta experience, traveling. And I can hold my own, if we're gonna need to fight too.
Re: video;
Yes. I suppose I have yet to meet everyone who is here. [Though he had tried to some degree.]
I am sure you have more to offer than you realize. A well-traveled person in an unknown environment can be an asset. I have heard there are dangers out there so it is a possibility that we will have to fight in order to find Taichi.

Gomamon expects Hiccup to just...keep his mouth shut and cut the feed. He didn't say anything in response to Koushirou's video earlier, so why should he now? But he is completely taken off guard when the viking suddenly blurts.]
I want to help find Taichi too.
E...you what!?
[Video]
I appreciate the help Hiccup. I do not have a full plan as of yet, but perhaps we can work something out once we have a better idea of who is willing to go.

...What could you do if you don't want to fight?
video;
[He'll have to investigate it later as well. At least he can find Taichi or knows his location.]
Well, the people fighting might need medical care. There is also the Primary Village to evacuate and the digimon there might need taking care of. Others might try to stay in the main meeting hall and provide a more general support in terms of food or just comfort. Keeping everyone safe is the priority.

Someone is definitely going to get themselves killed here.]
If it'll stop these things, then I'm in. [Not necessarily to protect her new 'home'. Cocoon is still her home and she's not buying this destined to be here crap. But Hope's here, and he needs to be protected.
Lopmon bounces into the camera, completely oblivious to Lightning's inner thoughts.] Aw yeah! AW YEAH! Time for those Beemon to feel the thundaaaaa!!!
video;
I do think it will help. I take it you wish to stay and battle the Beemon then?

I...I-I don't know how much good I can do...I-I'd...probably get in the way if I went to help look for Taichi. B-but...at the very least, I can...try to help look after things here...in the city...

And you can bet me and Dorumon are going to be defending the city. I may not have a weapon on hand, but this wouldn't be the first time I've had to improvise. Just let me know if there's anything else I can do.

A true plan has yet to be devised, I am still getting an idea for who wishes to help and in what way. I could certainly use help in making those plans if you feel you can contribute to the task.

Think I'll volunteer to stay behind and protect the meeting hall. Try and figure out the digivolving thing too.
no subject
I think that sounds like a good idea. We will need as many people to defend the city as possible from the looks of that swarm.
I hope we can figure it out. It sounds like it will be a good asset to have.

If I may, I would certainly love to join you all on your excursion. to save the foolish little boy.

Very well. I have even less of an idea of what we will encounter out there, but if you are adaptable it will probably not be a problem.

You were in before he even posted.
So not the point. Either way I'm all for this!

I have more combat experience than most here. I will stay and defend the city.
[video]
Good. I had a feeling there were those out there who had such experience. I am glad you are willing to stay on and defend the city.

It was difficult to not follow those same patterns here, even if no one here is a part of the team I am used to leading.
[That and he hadn't seen anyone else doing it.]

The most important thing to remember is that they can fly, though. That means most defensive fortifications will be useless. If we want to stop them from destroying the town, we'll have to get their attention somehow before they decide to hit a building. Maybe like, one person from a squad draws in the bees by directing their partners to fire at a bees with an accurately ranged attack to draw them in so that the others can knock it out by attacking in unison?
[Ed pauses and thinks about it before nodding quickly.] That'd be the optimal strategy for dealing with things using Rookie digimon, but it won't hold up once the Beemon's numbers become too high, and you've seen the videos. By then, we're going to be relying on digivolution, with the teams working together using Champion level digimon. In the worst case scenario we can all fall back to the meeting hall and stop them there, but that'd be really bad since it'd also mean most of the town getting destroyed.
Those are my thoughts, as far as a strategy goes. I'm not sure how it'd piece in with yours, but... it's all I've got?
[video]
That is an option. We could also attempt to place some people on higher buildings to be prepared to take that advantage away and prevent the Beemon from flying too high out of range. Who knows, if we manage to achieve evolution we could also have some fliers among the digimon...but we should not rely on that.
We will need to take out as many as we can before they enter the city. If we knew more about the weakness of a Beemon that might also be beneficial.

Alright, I'll hear you out. I've never really been much for making plans myself, but that doesn't mean I won't listen to people who come up with 'em. I learned that lesson a few too many times.
Anyway, my partner Agumon can already evolve to the final level. His name's ShineGreymon in that form. That should give us an edge, right?
no subject
That does sound like a good edge. It might be best for someone with a higher level already to be a runner. That is...someone who could move from different points in the city where the Beemon are concentrated more or others are having a difficult time. I assume ShineGreymon's attacks would be powerful enough to take out several monsters at once?

You can do your strategizing and little search and rescue mission all you want! Just point me in the direction those bee things are coming from when they arrive, and I'll FIND a way to crush them like this!
Re: [Video]
[Though he feels you are missing the point of coming up with a strategy.]
Do you plan on attacking them alone?
