Ah-hem. If I could get people's attention for a moment, I have a problem. You see, my human has decided that he needs something to call me other than Veemon. This would be all fine and dandy except for one little thing: he has horrible taste in nicknames! So someone tell Jin that Reuben is the name of a sandwich, not a mighty dragon sorcerer.

*In the background, Jin has walked up behind Veemon and is standing with his arms crossed.*

It also happens to be the name of both my preferred mobile weapon and a significant Biblical figure.

It's a sandwich, and if you start calling me that I'm gonna be hungry all the time.

I don't see how that's very different from normal.

No, you see, right now I'm a little hungry all the time. If you call me by the name of a sandwich I'll be a lot hungry all the time.

*Jin sighs and shakes his head.*

You should be honored that I want to name you after a craft like the Reuben. But if it's that much of a problem...I suppose I could go back to the drawing board.

Uhhhh...why do I have a bad feeling about that?

I don't make the rules. A man-made construct doesn't have a soul. Homunculi don't either.

Keep in mind that our worlds are different. In fact, I'm fairly certain both the 100-Series prototype and Vector's pet android are capable of operating ESes.

*Of course, the android is a special case, but he doesn't know that yet.*

U-DO...some believe it to be a god, yes. Personally, I'm not quite so sure He is that easy to define, but it is certainly a possibility.

If they're both man-made, maybe they're just capable of making a similar output?

"U-DO"? Whoever named it needs to be fired. I'd like to meet it, though.

If they're piloting proper ESes, which they do seem to be, then it means the Vessels of Anima are reacting to them. And the Vessels aren't simple man-made objects. They're what people in my universe term Relics of God.

And...about meeting U-DO. *His voice grows melancholy, tinged with loss.* I wouldn't recommend it. My...I knew someone once who was capable of communicating with it. The resulting stress caused her to grow ill and eventually fall into a coma.

Then I can talk to it without communicating face-to-face. If you've got a gate to it, can't you just chuck a message in a bottle in?
