[Kaldur looks up. He hadn't brought it up yet, partly because he wasn't completely sure it was even his. Also, he felt kind of drained still from all the bat bites he'd received.]

I, too, received one.

[Gizamon opens one of her eyes, smirking with pride.] Kal got it when he beat a bat with another bat. It was kind of funny.

[He frowns slightly, thoughtfully, and ignores his partner (as usual by this point).] Where did Cam get that information?

Lucette evolved again.

[Kaldur blinks at that. Well, good for Cam and Lucette.]

Oh man! No fair.

[Gizamon pouts, apparently she wants to evolve again too, but she and Kaldur both knew it didn't work that way. Kaldur takes the crest out of a pocket and held it up, studying the design.]

That's... 4 or 5 different ones I've seen now then. I wonder how many there are...

When I started hearing some of the crest names I realized they were familiar sounding.

[Kaldur rose and went to a desk. He pulled open a drawer and produced a map of Terminal Tokyo he had picked up while doing some work around town. He spread it out for Neku to see and pointed to some of the districts.]

Here is Tenacity. Here is Friendship. Here is Courage. I imagine that the rest of the districts also match up with a crest if we asked around some more. There are fourteen districts with names like that which would lead to there being fourteen crests to match.

Huh... makes sense. But why name areas of town after the crests? Something thematic, like naming streets after flowers or dead prime ministers?

That would make sense, especially if they are a major part of the lore or mythology of the digital world.

Or, perhaps these areas are special to those crest holders.

Maybe. I might go snoop around, see if it lights up or something. So far it's hasn't done much beyond be slightly tacky jewelry.

Yes I suppose like everything else we are going to have to learn about it ourselves and not rely on an instruction manual popping up somewhere mysteriously.

[Life is never that easy. There is no Guide Book to these things as much as Kaldur wishes there was.]
