August Jobs!
Greetings, Citizens of Terminal Tokyo! This is your local Trailmon Job Agency doing its monthly rounds! We've a lot of jobs to fill and more people than normal. Hope none o' you youngins were out here for a vacation! Man-- I remember the good old days of running free, yes ma'am. Now my gears are all rustin' and it's a hard to get on chuggin'-- but never you mind all that!
Since there's a lot of new folk around here I best get'ta explaining, yeah? Beginning of the month or so we post a bunch of jobs. We Trailmon spend a while setting 'em all up nice and organized for you lot.
All ya gotta do is sign up to do it. Remember there's limited spaces for each, so don't be riding the slow'mon about it!
[[OOC MECHANICS: This is how it will work (we'll be doing it similar to
gargleblasted). Each number needed will be listed and it's first come first serve. Each character is allowed ONE (1) job, so please don't go signing up for more than that.
To get the job all you have to do is respond! SIGN UPS CAN BE FOUND HERE! Please respond with the CHARACTER JOURNAL of the character you wish to sign up with!
This is where all interactions will be taking place. There is a section for each job, and you will be allowed to set up further things as you like in terms of dates and times and who you will talk to.]]

Librarian

[His Japanese was barely at a level that could be called 'basic', and his understanding of Digicode was even worse. But if there was one thing Waver Velvet believed, it was that anything worth learning could be done through meticulous research. Libraries were the natural habitat of any student, and though he was working hard with both his notes and the actual librarian job Waver actually seemed to be quite content.]

[ She means the Digicode (which she has remarkably deciphered already), but is completely unaware to his plight when it comes to Japanese. ]
no subject
[He was certainly dead set on being able to read something around here.]
no subject
[ Ufufu. ] Yes, that's right. Ask me for help.

[ At least she's right. ] You can't just learn a language on your own without any help.

It isn't long after he enters the building that he spots Waver, trying to get a peek at the books he's looking at while searching through the shelves himself. Nothing to be found on Runic Norse yet, but he'd be surprised if he did find anything.]
Uuuh.....what'cha reading?
no subject
[Waver smiled awkwardly, realizing oh right, librarians helped people with this kind of thing.]
Are you looking for something specific?
no subject
[Hiccup pauses, fishing in a satchel he had strapped to his belt for a moment before pulling out a crumpled sheet of paper, which he unfolds for Waver to see.]
You wouldn't happen to have any books written....in or on this, would you?..
[The page is covered in runes, seemingly random ones- though really Hiccup just scrawled out the alphabet for quick reference if ever needed.]
no subject
[Surprisingly enough, most magi could (and often did) write in one form of runes or another. Waver's expression turned astonished as he examined the paper and looked back to Hiccup--he didn't look like anyone from the Clock Tower, but it was hard to say for sure.]
[Honestly, he was just stunned and a little grateful to finally see something he could properly read.]
I, uh...most of what I've seen is either Japanese or whatever weird code this place operates on. Is this what I think it is?
no subject
[Hiccup lets out a weak chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. He hadn't found anyone who could read runes yet, so to be honest he's not at all expecting for Waver to be able to. Teaching Leatherhead how to somewhat read and write with runes didn't exactly count.]

Though, uh, that's certainly a familar face she sees while she's shelving books.]
Oh! Are you working here, too?
no subject
[Waver was startled to see Lillet, for whatever reason; maybe he'd been hoping to be left on his own for a while. But he recovered quickly with what passed for a friendly although awkward smile.]
Yeah...I just started. I'm kind of having trouble reading much of anything, though.

[Sigh.]
It's not looking very easy. I wonder if I could ask Palmon about it.

Got hired to work there as well.
Work is an understatement. She's a lot better at kicking out people who are loud and forcing others to do all the manual labor. ]
I'm sorry I had to
[Here's exactly (1) cart full of books that look like they need to be sorted. Parked right in front of her. There's a second cart a few paces away, which is what Magnus intends on working on.]
It will be quicker if if we work in pairs.
Feel free to poke him now or later during the day c:
[He'd arrived particularly early to pick through one of the books himself before beginning in the morning, only to find that most of them were full of runes he could not read(see: Japanese script). The first shock came at the fact that it wasn't automatically translated as he expected as a robot. It was almost like suddenly finding yourself unable to see a certain color.]
[Although he was a little dismayed, he figured that deciphering them would come with time, and kept a little pile of the books at a desk, next to Syakomon, who seemed content at flipping through and looking for pictures. Among them included a few Cookbooks and an English to Japanese dictionary - one of the books he could find with the human script he could understand. He had time to memorize a few of the symbols for the purpose of organizing the returned books before opening the building and beginning their day.]

She was quick to encourage him to check it out, happily leading him to said place so he could inquire about a job.
Which he got.
The place was pretty big and he couldn't help but be excited, wandering through the stacks when he came in for work, Trion following along after him with much the same look of awe. None of the books were in a language he could understand but, well, all in due time.
All in due time.
Rounding a corner, Smokescreen spotted a familiar human and perked up, heading over to where his commander was with Trion in tow.]
Need some help, sir?
no subject
[He gives Smokescreen a short nod as he asks the question, and partly in greeting.]
You can assist in reshelving these books.
[His right hand gestured to the cart of books he was standing next to. The limb was normal again, at least in the digital world, though it held heavy scarring.]
no subject
[He doesn't hesitate to move to the cart of books, though he does spare the other's arm a glance--briefly--before doing so, glad that the commander at least has full use of it.
Scooping up some of the books, more than he probably should of course, Smokescreen starts to move towards his first destination after a glance down at the book title of the one on top of the pile.]
Did you just start working here too, sir?
[Trion watches him for a moment then shakes her head with a quiet sigh, moving over towards where Syakomon was. She climbs up onto a seat and tries to peer at the book the other is flipping through, head tilting a bit.]
What are you reading about?"
no subject
Curious the big teen wanders the library, adrift in a sea of words he couldn't possibly read. His hands went over them, flipping through the book's images and words. It was...strange, seeing everything before him without needing the push of buttons.
...and then Impmon had to do something stupid to disrupt his peace. The digimon scaled the top of a bookshelf, readying his diver pose.]
Hey watch this!
Impmon what are you--?
AAAAAAAAAAAAH!
[WHAM. Impmon tossed himself off the top of the bookshelf, landing on the floor with a solid and painful whump.]
...that could've gone better.
Impmon! Are you alright?
no subject
She scampers in first, sitting on her haunches as she looks up in awe at all the books. Where did you even START in a place like this? It was like a buffet...of KNOWLEDGE! Wheeljack seems less impressed. To him? It was the Iacon Archives--as boring as it always used to be.
When he walks in, there's a bag in his hand, with..you guessed it. Food. He had to carry it around with him now in case he got urges.
Lol what rule about no eating?]
