Greetings, Citizens of Terminal Tokyo! This is your local Trailmon Job Agency doing its monthly rounds! We've a lot of jobs to fill and more people than normal. Hope none o' you youngins were out here for a vacation! Man-- I remember the good old days of running free, yes ma'am. Now my gears are all rustin' and it's a hard to get on chuggin'-- but never you mind all that!

Since there's a lot of new folk around here I best get'ta explaining, yeah? Beginning of the month or so we post a bunch of jobs. We Trailmon spend a while setting 'em all up nice and organized for you lot.

All ya gotta do is sign up to do it. Remember there's limited spaces for each, so don't be riding the slow'mon about it!

[[OOC MECHANICS: This is how it will work (we'll be doing it similar to gargleblasted). Each number needed will be listed and it's first come first serve. Each character is allowed ONE (1) job, so please don't go signing up for more than that.

To get the job all you have to do is respond! SIGN UPS CAN BE FOUND HERE! Please respond with the CHARACTER JOURNAL of the character you wish to sign up with!

This is where all interactions will be taking place. There is a section for each job, and you will be allowed to set up further things as you like in terms of dates and times and who you will talk to.]]

[Waver kept mostly to himself as he worked on shelving a stack of books. Every so often he would open one and flip through it before turning to write something in a notebook; it seemed like he was taking notes on the languages they were written in as he worked.]

[His Japanese was barely at a level that could be called 'basic', and his understanding of Digicode was even worse. But if there was one thing Waver Velvet believed, it was that anything worth learning could be done through meticulous research. Libraries were the natural habitat of any student, and though he was working hard with both his notes and the actual librarian job Waver actually seemed to be quite content.]

[ She means the Digicode (which she has remarkably deciphered already), but is completely unaware to his plight when it comes to Japanese. ]

No, but I'll figure it out.

[He was certainly dead set on being able to read something around here.]

[ At least she's right. ] You can't just learn a language on your own without any help.

Oh I forgot, I'm talking with a genius who can master anything he puts his pea-sized brain to.

By all means, please go ahead and read to me. I'm a ditsy blonde and oops I forgot what we were talking about heehee!

[Hiccup hadn't had too many chances to visit the library as of yet, but now that things seem to have calmed down somewhat he decided now would be as good of a time as any. Leaving Fearless home at the apartment to do as he pleased with his time (since the little Gomamon said being stuck in a library with a bunch of dusty books would be a snooze-fest in his opinion), the viking headed off for the library, taking a bit longer than usual since he still hadn't had the chance to find a replacement for his rusted leg.

It isn't long after he enters the building that he spots Waver, trying to get a peek at the books he's looking at while searching through the shelves himself. Nothing to be found on Runic Norse yet, but he'd be surprised if he did find anything.]

Uuuh.....what'cha reading?

Nothing, exactly--I'm just taking notes on the code these are written in while I'm putting them back on the shelves.

[Waver smiled awkwardly, realizing oh right, librarians helped people with this kind of thing.]

Are you looking for something specific?

Well...

[Hiccup pauses, fishing in a satchel he had strapped to his belt for a moment before pulling out a crumpled sheet of paper, which he unfolds for Waver to see.]

You wouldn't happen to have any books written....in or on this, would you?..

[The page is covered in runes, seemingly random ones- though really Hiccup just scrawled out the alphabet for quick reference if ever needed.]

[Surprisingly enough, most magi could (and often did) write in one form of runes or another. Waver's expression turned astonished as he examined the paper and looked back to Hiccup--he didn't look like anyone from the Clock Tower, but it was hard to say for sure.]

[Honestly, he was just stunned and a little grateful to finally see something he could properly read.]

I, uh...most of what I've seen is either Japanese or whatever weird code this place operates on. Is this what I think it is?

...If you think it's runes, then...yes. At least I hope it's what you're thinking it is.

[Hiccup lets out a weak chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. He hadn't found anyone who could read runes yet, so to be honest he's not at all expecting for Waver to be able to. Teaching Leatherhead how to somewhat read and write with runes didn't exactly count.]

I...yeah. Wow, I can't really say I was expecting that. Where'd you learn to write with them?

[Oh boy here we go.]

[Hiccup's surprise can be clearly seen in his expression, and almost eagerly he flattens out the paper a bit more.]

Well...I grew up learning how to read and write, just like every other normal viking on Berk.

What.

[Waver paused after that expression of flat astonishment, perhaps realizing that since his bff was Alexander the Great maybe he didn't have a leg to stand on when it came to deciding what was or wasn't unusual.]

...On second thought, never mind. I've heard stranger stuff than that.

[It probably isn't a big surprise that Lillet is working in the library, what with that huge stack of grimoires she had with her when she first arrived (and has now hid in her apartment when she's away, even though she has no roommates). It's a nice and quiet sort of job, and when she might be just a bit hopeful that maybe there's books on magic or time travel that she can read.

Though, uh, that's certainly a familar face she sees while she's shelving books.]

Oh! Are you working here, too?

[Waver was startled to see Lillet, for whatever reason; maybe he'd been hoping to be left on his own for a while. But he recovered quickly with what passed for a friendly although awkward smile.]

Yeah...I just started. I'm kind of having trouble reading much of anything, though.

You, too? I was hoping I could find a book or two that could help me with something, but they seem to all be written in languages I can't understand so far...

Afraid so. I don't speak Japanese yet, so I thought I'd give decoding this other code a try.

[Sigh.]

It's not looking very easy. I wonder if I could ask Palmon about it.

Yeah... I should probably ask Coronamon for help as well. [Sighh.] I guess things are never going to be that easy to find a solution to.

I've noticed lately it never really is. But I guess complaining won't do much, so we'll just have to adapt to it.
