♔ 001; [video]
Uh...hi, I guess.
[A slightly awkward teenager(?) appears onscreen, sounding as uncertain as he looks. He's apparently found apartment F1 001, as the background seems to be a bedroom.]
My name's Waver Velvet, and I just got here recently. I wanted to ask--does anyone know if there's a library or a bookstore anywhere?
[He's in for a nasty shock: the poor kid can't read Japanese worth a damn.]

How're people that can't read Japanese supposed to get by with that?

You speak japanese? You're out of luck if you don't. We've had a hell of a time finding anything in english. It'd help if the Cadet could tell the difference between languages...
[In spite of her apparent grump with her partner, she pats him on the head anyways.]

[Sighing, Waver pressed a hand to his head. It looked like he just heard the world was ending.]
Is that really all there is?
[video]
It's not all, it's just most of it. Including all of the medical books we've found, which is a huge headache.

I think there is a bookstore somewhere in--- [ Gives directions to a big bookstore in the city. That sold Japanese books. And the street signs are all written in Japanese. ]
video;
Thanks--is it true most of it's in Japanese, though? I was hoping for something written in English.
video;
Of course it is. This is Tokyo after all.
video;
[Duh, Waver. For such a smart kid, you're kind of a dumbass.]
Oh. Right. I guess I forgot that with all the other things going on.
video;
And its all a lot to take in.

There are several libraries scattered across the city, but none of the texts are particularly useful in providing insight on how this world works.
Do you speak Japanese, or will you need a translator?
[video]
I can't really speak it, no. If it'd be troublesome for someone to translate, I can try to learn it instead.
[video]
[she speaks it fluently, after all]
[video]
[waver you are just pitiful.]

[ Holding up her head high. ] Sometimes I just have to be the bigger person in this kind of situation. I'm Tousaka. Rin Tousaka.
