1st Transmission [Video]

[The screen flickers a bit before static pops up. The static slowly clears until the image of a pair of brown eyes with a purple bandana wrapped around it appears, a few locks of brown hair over the mast. The screen moves in a few directions before beuing oulled back and revealing the full face of the teenage boy holding it.]

Hmm... It looks like I was able to get some kind of video feed working.

[A small bluish-green turtle pops up next to the boy, a yellow ball inside it's plastron and a blue helmet covering the top of it's head.]

Really? That's great Donnie! That means that anyone else with a D-Terminal can see you!

I figured as much Kamemon. Hmm... Now if only I could figure out if this can send a video back to my world. Or at least see if someone can explain to me how the heck I got here and how the heck I got turned into a human.

Why? You don't like being a human? Sooo... What were you before?

[Sighs] As I tried to explain to you before, I was a turtle like you... well sort of anyways. But now I'm human and I ended up being sent into some weird world that is nothing like New York, and I have no way of figuring out how to get home! It's just too confusing!

[The screen shakes a bit due to Donnie freaking out, causing the D-Terminal to shake a bit. It quickly settles back down once Kamemon steadie's Donnie's arms]

Whoa, whoa Donnie, chill! Freaking out is just going to mess you up.. Just take a deep breath Donnie, deep breath.

[The screen shows Donnie taking a huge deep breath before his facial features relax.]

Okay, okay, feeling calm now. Still confused, but calm.

There you go! Sorry guys, Donnie can... over-react sometimes. But don;t worry, he's not a bad guy... usually.

Gomamon lets out a low whistle, dropping his head on Hiccup's shoulder as he eyes Donnie curiously.]

If transmissions were possible across dimensions I believe someone would have mentioned it by now. Then again, perhaps the attempt has not been made yet.

[He can't imagine it would be easy. He's...curious about the turtle thing, but considering some of his friends look like they were mixed with various sea animals it's actually not as disturbing to him as you would think.]

I wonder if the alteration of appearance is tied to those of us who have lost our special abilities as well. Although the degree of alteration seems to vary.

[After all, he still had his gills and webbed hands/feet. Perhaps it was only if you didn't look human at all? But what was the purpose?]

It could possibly be tied to ones who have special abilities. I can;t say myself because besides I have no abilities and I've lost any of my turtle features. Hmm...

Yes, I should be okay. I still feel like I did as a turtle, so whatever happened to me didn't cause me any damaging effects. [Curiosity fills his brown eyes] By the way, who are you?

My apologies. I'm Kaldur'ahm...or Kaldur for short. [He's noticed more than a few people seem to have trouble with the name. Since it seems they may be here for awhile he might as well make life easier.

Thankfully, he's also gotten used to THAT question. Although he probably really should invest in a jacket so as not to freak out TOO many people.]

It is all right. I have already been asked this before and I am very aware that my appearance is not one often seen. [Pause, the rest is directed at Kamemon.] I have gills because I am Atlantean, they allow me to breath underwater which is where I originated.

I don;t know, I know what Atlantis is, but I'm starting to think that many of us aren't form the same universes. Maybe we're all from some kind of multiverse, so that means that those of us who came here are from different dimensions where things happen differently. Somehow, we all just ended up in this one.

[Sighs[ Nevermind. [Smiles] It's nice to meet you Kaldur, my name is Donatello, or Donnie for short. [He turns the screen twoards Kamemon] This little guy is Kamemon.

It would explain a few things. And I've discussed the multiverse theory with another already. Besides, we are already in one alternate reality...it is not to much of a stretch to imagine worlds beyond it.

[He won't go into details about who he had discussed it with since it would call for a long, overly involved story. Still, it was the theory he was going with.]

[Kaldur does not seem bothered by the nickname. Seriously, it will take more than that to set him off.]

That's Sweet! I love turtles! I used to be able to turn into them whenever I needed to ya know, swim or hide in my shell from danger. Those things are surprisingly tough! If I could count every time I've been blown clear from an explosion while hiding in my shell...

Well... It's a big city, it's always busy. You know the saying that 'New York is a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there?' It's a pretty accurate statement.

Well no... It's a long story. To make it as short as I can, my three brothers and I were normal turtles until the man who bought us got hit with this alien chemical. He got turned into a giant rat and my brothers and I became more human. Since a giant rat and four talking turtles would freak everyone out, we hid in the sewers.

...You live with a giant rat? What's a rat?

I'll tell you later, and yes, he's my father... At least he has been since he bought my brothers and me. But it's okay, we have electricity and everything, so the sewers aren't to bad.

I think the only human we've fought - well, not directly, he was more a "throw robots at you" type - was Doctor Robotnik, but he's in a different universe. And since that lab accident fused him with a rotten egg, I'm not convinced he's completely human.
