[The feed cuts on, showing one scruffy, somewhat scraggly, and slightly worn out Kratt. He's been working on the city every day and tonight, decided to sit around on the network afterwards.]

Hey Hiccup if you're around, maybe after all this is over with we can finally sit down and look at that notebook you've got? So far I've noticed a lot of Digimon are similar to all the creatures I studied back home, and I'd really like to see if that trend continues.

[He rubs his chin in thought- looks like a couple fingers have bandaids around them -and then looks back at the camera with a little gesture.]

And anyone who's had a partner digivolve, I'd like to know what their normal stage is and what they digivolved to? I'm just trying to figure out a couple things for myself regarding the process. [Let's face it, for a biologist like him the whole thing was a little nonsensical, but cool, and he wanted to see if he could figure it out.]

Thanks ahead of time, to anyone who replies! [And he reaches forward to cut the initial feed- wait it looks like that wrist is wrapped up in some kinda brace-?

[She's been asking this question a lot lately, since all the cleanup work started. But she especially asks now because that wrist brace is new.]

[He glanced at his hands, then grinned guiltily, tucking them behind his back.]

[Kaldur doesn't mind unwinding with a discussion. He's relaxing with Gizamon on one side of him, her eyes closed, and Kotemon is already asleep on his shoulder. They'd been working pretty hard too.]

Considering the variety of life underwater, I am rather surprised by the lack of Chosen whose partners evolve into aquatic animals. Although I suppose they would be limited in their fighting. There does not seem to be as wide a variety of aquatic based digimon as compared to animals back home, that is certain.

[Of course, Kaldur could be wrong there. It's not like he's seen everyone's partners evolve. Anyway, he continues.]

Sedna, that is, Gizamon evolves to a creature that is called Seadramon and later MegaSeadramon. Both are, I suppose, closest in appearance to an eel...except with fins and fangs. She also has a horn as MegaSeadramon. She is very dragon-like in some ways.

Mobility and environment may have something to do with it too. I'd imagine most aquatic Digimon would be found in more aquatic environments, which this place- [He chuckled a bit.] -really isn't. It's possible this just isn't the right habitat to see many, Chosen partners or otherwise.

Seadramon, huh? That sounds pretty cool. I wasn't even aware there were eel-like Digimon, though I'm happy there are.

Can Digimon tell you, too? Guilmon's evolved lots of times! All the way to Mega.

Of course, I have to have Takato to become Dukemon. Matrix Evolution's something only people from our world do.

[As for why it's him responding and not Takato, Guilmon's got his own little communicator, having been around since before Takato's arrival.]

Mega, that's the end of the digivolution line, right? [At least, from what Sylvia was able to tell him.] Heh, you're the first Digimon I've heard of that's been able to do that!

So what's Matrix Evolution like? Is it anything like regular digivolving?

[Perry appears on screen. He's been somewhat curious about this before, but only really for one reason due to bias. Plus, Chris was friendly enough. He doesn't mind helping out in the research though and holds up signs over his two partners.

First is the unfamiliar looking digimon.]
Tapirmon. He was Tokomon last we talked. He looks like a Tapir and evolves into a wizard and then a...bird-man thing.

Oh, thanks. I evolve to Silphymon. Not Birdman thing.

[While Bartholomew is huffing, Perry erases the dry erase board and writes on it again, holding it to the fox digimon standing behind him.]

Renamon. She looks like a fox (obviously). Evolution unknown.

[Perry erases the board and then finally holds up another message.]

You know, if you're interested in creatures a few of us here are actually animals back home. We're not sure how it works, but we get changed into humans when we arrive here.

Oh, this? [He raised one hand and yep, it's in a brace. Chris shrugged lightly.] Yeah it's just a sprain, nothing worse than what I've gotten climbing around. It'll be alright. [A gentle smile; he does appreciate the concern.]

I can digivolve to Lilamon! [The Lalamon sounds waaaaaaay too excited about this, waving its stubby little arms around.] Wanna see?

Did you miss the part where he wants to know your rookie stage? [That's the voice from behind the camera.] And also probably what you digivolve to before Lilamon.

Oh, fine. I'm Lalamon, then I'm Sunflowmon, and then I'm Lilamon.

[Chris laughed a bit, smiling brightly.]

I'd like to know anything you can tell me. So if you can go that far that means you're crested, right?

[The face on screen is a bit close, but has friendly bright blue eyes, and freckles and is framed with bright orange hair on top and an orange scarf around his neck. He is also smiling.]

You want to know about our digimon? I've got Leormon, he hasn't digivolved yet, but he looks a lot like a lion cub.

[He turns the camera to show said Leormon lounging on his bed.]



And then there is my Salamon partner, her name is Leader. Though maybe she should show you her digivolution, rather than just telling.

[The video then turns to a Salamon who looks to be on his other side on the bed. She glances up at the person holding the D-Terminal then sighs good naturedly.]

The "puppy to cat" gets a note of attention, but he tucks it away in favor of answering the question he was asked first.]

Everything! I've spent my entire life studying every sort of creature and their behavior, their way of living.

Curious about creatures? [Before Chris is a young woman with cat ears and a bushy black tail swaying behind her. The right ear is torn, and across her right eye three scratch scars run to her cheek bone.] Can anyone answer?

[He takes this in and smiles, raising an eyebrow.] Yeah, I wanna hear from anybody!

Human or otherwise, it doesn't matter to me.

[ It's an odd angle for a moment, in the semi-light of the sun leftover and what street lights are still operating. There's a Bearmon standing in the open road, heedless of the remnant rubble around; someone walks into the frame with her back to the camera and lifts what appears to be her digivice into the air. It glows and soon, the Bearmon is now an Aquilamon. From the distance, Misha turns around and waves to the camera. ]

[ The next voice comes from behind the D-Terminal. ]

Aw, no fair! I want to digivolve, too!

You'll get there eventually, runt. Now, both of you, come on. This is going to be a short flight tonight.

[ Misha gestures for Rufus to come along and the camera starts getting super-shaky as she waddles over, all while the human expertly picks her way up onto Thelma's back. ]

Okay, I admit, I had no idea Bearmon could digivolve into Aquilamon. [He snickered a little; watch that be the Champion of Martin's Bearmon just like it is his other Digimon. It'd be just like him to have two raptors.]

That was pretty impressive.

[Normally, Shark doesn't pay much attention to network posts and replies to them even less, but for whatever reason, he's always willing to help with research.]

This one here makes no damn sense.

[He's leaning very casually against his Gotsumon, who doesn't seem to mind.]

I digivolve into Garurumon! Wait...do you know what Garurumon is?

Nope, can't say as I've met a Garurumon yet.

[A light chuckle.] I'm gonna guess by those comments that it's nothing like your current form, though?

[Chris is clearing his throat, that wasn't a surpressed snicker or anything, no.

That Terriermon grabs his attention though.]

Your species wouldn't happen to be related to Lopmon, would it?

[Saori has both of her partners, an Elecmon and a Gaomon, sitting next to her on the couch.]

So far, only Guren's been able to digivolve to champion level. [The Elecmon waves as if to point himself out.] He's a Tsunomon at the in-training level, but he digivolves to Leppamon.

Elecmon digivolve to...Leppamon!

Geeze, Guren, a little more warning before you digivolve indoors!

[While as Leppamon he wasn't a giant compared to other champion levels, he's fairly close to her size. Guren had his head on her lap and Gaomon just barely got out of the way of the bladed tail.]

From what I can tell, Leppamon are modeled after the kaimaitachi weasels of Japanese folklore. I've seen my fair share of digimon based on folklore and mythology. It's quite interesting to see just how many of them are here and how this place interprets them.

[A little sympathy flinch for when the tail is dodged, and then he studied the Digimon in question.]

So far, most of the ones I've seen are more based on actual creatures, but mythology being a common theme wouldn't surprise me too much. [There certainly seemed to be Digimon for everything.]

He raises an eyebrow, still smiling but it's just a slightly softer expression.]

[If Chris flinched guiltily at Martin's reply, it was quick and played off with a light chuckle and a readjust of his position, maybe too quick to catch.]

I'm getting a lot from some other people too; who knows, we may even be able to expand Hiccup's research!

[A little shrug, and a hopefully nonchalant smile.]

Ahh, I'm not quite tired yet. The Digimon are out like a couple'a lights though.

What, that I studied? [He smiled warmly, perhaps trying to counteract her nervousness.] Yeah, I researched all kinds of animals back home, everything from earthworms and plankton all the way up to elephants and giant squids.

Well, my partner's name is Biyomon, and he can digivolve into Aquilamon and Garudamon.

[ She pauses for a moment, thinking of what else she should say. ]

Umm... do you know what those two are, or do I need to say what he looks like each time?

Aquilamon I know, yeah! I've seen at least two so far. [That's looking like a common Champion around here.]

Haven't seen Garudamon yet though.
