003: Accidental Video

  • Jan. 18th, 2014 at 11:01 AM
[The first thing that is noticeable is the loud crash that can be heard as the D-Terminal hits the floor. The video comes on, showing a sideways view of a room, the floor more visible than the door leading out into the hallway. There's a scurrying sound, with an undertone of metal scratching.]

H-Hey! Come back here! Come--Terriermon! It's going to the door!

[A small metal rat comes into view just as Terriermon's paws(?) grab its tail. A spark can be seen, and it's followed by a yelp as Terriermon jerks back.]

Ouch! It shocked me!

Damn!

[Duo's bare feet are visible now as he leaps for the door, finally closing it before the baby Digimon can get out. There's more scurrying off screen, more running around and shouting before things finally seem to settle down.

The D-Terminal is moved, showing Terriermon holding the device and looking more than a little flustered.
]

Does...anyone know how to take care of a baby Digimon? The egg Duo had has hatched.

[It's been awhile since a certain black widow has been on the network and it looks like Blackarachnia's making up for lost time. Or... her stupid Taprimon got a hold of the device again.

Considering the shot the network gets to see is Blackarachnia and Venom taking a seat at a table in a certain cafe in Hospitown, it's a safe bet that's whats happening. It's also a safe bet that neither one of them realize just yet what a certain idiot is doing as they order food. If they had, it's also a safe bet a certain digimon would be in a heap of trouble.

Then again, he might still get into said trouble.

Eventually the screen changes and a certain dork appears on the screen.]

Fear not! We have made it to our destination at last. The journey was a harrowing one, but we have pulled through and now....

....What are you doing.

[He freezes for a moment before turning the camera towards Blackarachnia. Both her and Venom are glaring at him. She reaches over and quickly snatches the device from him, not realizing it's on at the moment.]

Just what the slag did I tell you? You are not allowed to touch this damned thing you metal headed moron.

But Milady! I just wished to inform our friends that we have arrived. This is a time for rejoicing and meeting up with them to share our tales of travel!

[Blackarachnia just stares at him for a moment with a raised eyebrow while her only sane partner quietly face paws next to her.]

And what makes you think I want to talk to anyone before we eat.

.....Don't think we have a choice. The device is already on.

[Blackarachnia suddenly glance down at the device in her hands and she starts muttering under her breath before turning the thing off. This was NOT how she wanted to let people know where she was. ]

[In the late afternoon, Sakuyamon pops up on the D-Terminals again. She's on a ship now, and the background behind her rises and falls with the waves.]

Captain Hookmon has just arrived. However, we won't be leaving until the sun rises, so if you would like to come with me there is still time. [A beat.] I will be back in the future, if you are still undecided.

[For all you night owls out there, Vanguard decides that now (just five minutes past midnight in an abandoned house at the edge of HospiTown) is the perfect time to voice his displeasure.:]

As you are all my witness, there is nothing here, there's no such things as ghosts, and if this rickety old house comes crashing down on our heads, it's Bumblebee's fault.

[Bumblebee shines his flashlight back at Vanguard and the D-terminal with an amused smile, Vanguard gives an indignant scoff.]

I'm not scared. I'm annoyed

[Bumblebee laughs silently, patting Vanguard as he moves past. Vanguard murmurs irately and paws his impeccably groomed mane back into place. Ghosts may not exist, but Digimon ghost types certainly exist. Even the small ones are a pain to deal with, dispatched with a good fireball. But the higher level ones? Best to stay away from those altogether.]

Can we just go now?

[Bee sighs. Fine, they can head home, if that's what he wants. Of course, that's when the camera catches a glimpse of something: moonlight pouring in from a window flickers on the wall behind him, like a shadow dashing across the light. Floorboards in the distance give off a terrible groan, wood creaking under something's weight. The orb of light from Bumblebee's flashlight creeps down the long, dark corridor. The beam hardly penetrates the stifling darkness to reveal a room at the end of the hallway, its door half fallen off its hinges.]

[The D-terminal's camera starts to shake from unsteady hands. And as camera focuses, two slivers of light stare back at them. Soft mumbling carries down the hallway as the D-terminal's shaking intensifies.]

[Bumblebee, stricken more with curiosity and wariness than fear, takes a tentative step forward. Bewildered, Vanguard snatches Bumblebee's sleeve]

What're you doing-!?

[As if in response to the noise, the two slivers of eyes disappear into the dark. A voice that is neither Bumblebee's nor Vanguard's hisses vehemently right next to the D-terminal:]

-can't take it from me!

[The inhuman noise that comes from Vanguard is so panicked and high pitched, it's practically comical. His flailing knocks the flashlight from Bee's hand, and the D-Terminal goes sailing with it. Both hit the ground with a clatter.]

[The last thing the feed picks up is the sound of rapid footsteps in the dark. The feed cuts.]
