[Hermione hasn't dealt all too much with the D-Terminal since arriving. She's spoke to a few people through it, but in all she's been avoiding the masses for more logical things-- like looking through all the books in Odaiba Elementary and other places she could. Of course, those came up with frustrating results.]

[And on top of that the Damemon just love making a racket, don't they?]

[So when she finally appears on the screen it's with a look of irritation. She's still in a library and the orange dinosaur Digimon behind her looks bored to pieces.]

Finally. Even the Gryffindor Common Room hardly ever got so noisy as it's been here the past few days, and we had the twins to make them rowdy. I hope the Damemon don't plan to do this every time new people arrive.

But it looked like fun.

[The Agumon's whine was enough to make her whine and glance over her shoulder.]
And I told you over a dozen times to go out there. You're the one who insisted on following me in here.

[Agumon look dismayed and mumbled a quiet I thought you could use the company. It was quiet enough that the viewer couldn't hear it, but Hermione did look somewhat guilty before she spoke again.]

I told you I'd be fine just as many times, you know--- Anyway, I've been spending the last few days trying to translate some of the works. I've never learned Japanese, so those ones are beyond me. Some of the others were a fair bit easier thanks to the alphabet on the D-Terminal, but unfortunately it hasn't been all that helpful.

Has anyone else had any luck?

Oh-- Right. I'm Hermione Granger and this is Agumon.

Hiya!

I've been here just as long as most of the rest of you. Surely, we can start finding answers soon. Especially given this is a Digital World. Nothing can lack answers.

[The feed is on with a click, showing a rather pleased and excited Lopmon. The sounds of the festival can be heard in the background, though she must be in some little alleyway as the festivities sound distant.]

Allllright! We got this thing on. Awesome! Now, I know this Damemon Parade thing is still going on today, and let me tell you, they know how to throw a party! But, I've got some important things to talk about, because I can already tell this is reeeeally annoying my partner right now.

So, nuuuumbeeeer one! No requesting to be her partner. A big fat no that. N-O. I can already tell that these requests have been bugging her, and she's already mine! Find your own! Got it? Good.
[Oh god, she looks way too pleased with herself about this.]

Nuuuuuumbeeer tw--

...Give me that. [The feed jostles as it's snatched out of the Lopmon's paws. Soon it straightens itself and a serious and irritated pink haired woman is on it, clearly ignoring the protests of her partner.]

I'm looking for some people with the names of Snow, Sahz, Vanille, Fang and Hope. I need to know their locations. [People who crash together would probably end up on the same world together, right? That's Lightning's theory anyways. They have to be here.

She gives the D-Terminal back to Lopmon, who looks confused and disappointed, though she doesn't seem to realize that Light's walked past her. She wanted to ask around to see if Lightning's friends were here and do her partner a favour. But, there's crying about spilled milk is there, and she bounces back with energy.]

So... y-yeah! We're looking for some people, so be sure to let us know if you know or have seen or-- whhaaaa! Hey! Liiiiight! [Oops, she's finally realized that Lightning's left her in the dust in the alleyway. Lopmon's running after, and probably making anyone who's watching at this point nauseous from the movement.] Light! Lightning! Wait for meeee!

Uh, hi everyone, I'm Mondo Oowada, Super High School Level Gang Leader, and -

[DemiDevimon lands on his shoulders.]

No! You're doing it wrong!

What? You said you wanted to do a stupid introduction!

Not you! Me! Introduce ME!!

Alright, alright! Damn. This is DemiDevimon. There.

That introduction sucked.

I'm not fucking good at this type of thing!

Obviously. It's okay. I think my greatness speaks for itself.

Anyways - [He moves to the side so DemiDevimon is out of the frame.] - I guess it's a long shot, but if anyone knows where I can get a bike around here, if I can get one, I'd appreciate it. A motorbike, not a regular one.

...And...I'm gonna look for them, but if any of you meet someone named Daiya Oowada or Kiyotaka Ishimaru...tell 'em I'm here, okay?

[ There is a little white Kudamon staring into the D-Terminal, nudging it with his nose and poking at it with his claws. ]

Do you think I turned it on right?

I don't care. Put it away.

You've been sulking there all day. ...aha! It's on I can tell!

Turn it off.

[ Kudamon looks back to Squall who's lying on the bed with his back turned to him. He shakes his head and turns back to the D-Terminal and lowers his head in a bow. ]

Hello, my name is Kudamon, and this is my partner Squall. As you can see, he's not being very friendly. He missed the festivities and it's just sad to miss out on so much, don't you think? Maybe if others come to talk to him he'll be in a happier mood.

[ Squall sits up from the bed and throws his Digivice at Kudamon. ]

Ouch! Hey, doing that won't make me Digivolve you know?

I. Don't. Care!

[ He climbs out of the bed and yanks the D-Terminal away from Kudamon. Then he glares at it. ]

Ignore everything he said. [ Then the feed quickly ends there. ]

[It seemed like the newer influx of Chosens couldn't have come at a better time. The D-Terminal is angled like anyone would angle a camera phone for a self-shot, a little lower, though, so his vision's not obstructed as he continues to walk ahead. Behind him is a view of the Fuji TV Station. The boy's hair is a windswept mess. If anyone's met Robin, then Tim Drake's voice will sound a little higher-- more natural, really.]

Hi, guys. I just got here and I was wondering--

[That's when a purple horn appears on screen. It's almost like Tim tries to hide it. He continues chatting like nothing happened. Like maybe he just felt like readjusting his hold on the Terminal.]

You know how we were given some of the... digital money to spend? Well... what happens if we blew it all off already? I mean, have you guys seen the mall?

I smell... sweet. Why-

And has anyone asked the train-mons what the price is to go to another city?

[There's a new arrival on the network today. She's dressed like she's ready for a performance, but she doesn't really look happy about her situation. Anyone familiar with the area will notice Hibiki's taken to Tokyo Tower to try and figure out where the heck her apartment is.

She doesn't realize her device is filming, mostly because she's just trying out.]

—does it even work? Hey, Psychetaro, can't you even tell me that?

That's not my name, and if I teach you everything, you won't learn.

[There's a bit of joy to Psychemon's voice as he stands on a railing behind Hibiki, almost like...he's enjoying antagonizing her.]

If I can't figure it out, I can't learn it! And what about where we're going to live? I can't see it, even from up here!

If I don't tell you, you'll get a better feel for the city, right?

T-that's not the issue here! I need to ask everyone where F3...004 is! Just tell me how to turn it on!

I'm sure you'll figure something out! Besides, you already turned it on about thirty seconds ago.

...H-huh? [Blink.] ...Are you tryin' to be cute? T-that's not funny at all! [Oh. Wait. It is recording.] How do I turn it off?!

[After a few seconds of fumbling, Hibiki manages to turn off her communicator.]

[There's a long pause as Wash checks over the device. Yes, it worked like Coronamon said. Not that he couldn't figure it out himself normally. But... This wasn't normal. And his head was hurting. But at least the armor was covering that. Even if it didn't work like normal anymore. All the systems on it stopped functioning, but it looked like it'd still be decent for protection.

They're out in the streets, as Wash didn't want to wait until they get to the apartment, even if Coronamon thought it would be better. The Digimon is off camera but audible.]

I guess this thing does work. Thanks, Coronamon.

Of course it does. I told you how to make it work, Wash. But as I said, it's not going to work for calling home. Don't waste your breath.

Fine... This is Agent Washington. Is there anyone out from UNSC Project Freelancer out there. I'd think this was a prank by the others, but they wouldn't have pulled me from recovery just to mess with me. Not after what put me in there...

I told you, it's not a joke. You're needed here. Just, take it easy for now. You didn't look good earlier.

It's just my head feeling off. I'll be fine.

Now can we go to the apartment? You really didn't look good.

[No video feed this time, just a girl's voice that sounds pretty annoyed.]

Okay, I'm starting to get a handle on this place, I think. I just have two questions.

First: Do the familiars we get saddled with here come with an off button? At least a mute?

[A different voice cuts in, with the sound of claws scraping together.]

I told you, we're not "familiars", we're-

The actual name is terrible. Which brings me to the second point: Can someone explain why everything has to have "digi-" or "-mon" tacked onto it here? It's getting old.

MEMORY SEQUENCE 001 - VIDEO

  • Apr. 14th, 2013 at 8:35 PM
[There is a view of intense brown eyes peering right up to the D-Terminal, which widen as the screen activates.] It is glowing!

[The eyes draw back, startled, to reveal a face with a good deal of frown lines for his age, a scar under one eye, and long braided hair, the rest of it tied back in a ponytail. He looks offscreen to where his partner, Armadillomon, trots into view and sits beside him.]

That's right, you switched on the video function. [Seeing his confusion, Armadillomon elaborates,] Now you can talk to the others!

I can? But I do not know where to begin, or what to ask. There are so many things I do not know. [Still confused, his attention is back on the screen again.] If anyone is listening, I have just arrived here. This spirit--

--Digimon--

--is calling itself my partner. I do not understand his explanation of this world, nor did I understand all of the guide...

[Armadillomon pokes his face into the screen.] Connor doesn't know what computers are, or what the internet is, or even electricity! I thought everyone knew that.

Apparently not. [Connor's reply is clipped, brisk, as though already losing his patience with his new partner. He tugs the odd shelled creature out of the way of the screen and addresses the communicator again.] If anyone is able to provide me with a better explanation, I would be grateful. [He inclines his head.] Thank you.
[The video comes into and goes out of focus, showing Ed playing around with his terminal to make sure everything is all set up properly. Guilmon is peering over his shoulder.]

Is it done? I want to say stuff!

Almost... just be patient.

The thingy is moving and blinking!

Yeah, but if I didn't make sure the quality was alright then Mylene would yell at me for like, an hour when she found out after I get back. Maybe even two hours.

That's bad?

That's terrible. [The image quality finally comes into focus, and Ed steps aside.] Okay, it's all ready!

Hi!! I'm Guilmon, and I wanted to make a video channel to say all the stuff I like to say. My partner got it all set up for me, so thanks a lot Ed!

O-oh, it's nothing. This stuff isn't that different from the PDAs we used to use, so...

Now then back to me and my important thoughts! [Guilmon holds up a claw. You can hear the crickets. Suddenly it is crying in a corner.] I can't think of any!

[As if to salvage the situation, Ed quickly scurries in front of the camera and bows.] Uhm... anyways. I'm Ed, and he's Guilmon. It's a pleasure to meet you all. I'm very sorry for wasting your time. I'll make sure Guilmon knows what he wants to say next time. S-so, uh...

How is everyone?

[ Zidane's actually spent a couple days sneaking about and poking at things and getting a handle on what exactly the situation is around here... which normally would be easy except he happens to have a bright green monkey following him around.  He feels as if someone... somehow... whatever vague aspect of fate who was in charge of picking partners out was having a good laugh over giving him Monmon as a partner.

But best not to dwell on that!  There were other things to attend to! Suck as fooling around with the D-terminal thing.  Once he figures out how to turn the video feed on at least.  But hey! Eventually he gets the hang of it.  Without ANY help from Monmon either. ]

Hey out there! This thing is pretty cool huh? I mean there's nothing like this where I'm from! Actually there's a lot things around here that's nothing like where I'm from.  All these friendly monsters NOT trying to eat me and everyone's really super tall like Amarant is...

[ He trails off but then grins broadly. ]

Anyways! What I guess I'm trying to say is... can anyone help explain some of this digital stuff to me? All the explanations I get have been pretty vague...

Hey! I'm very good at explaining!

Monmon, I told you before that I'm just trying to get a little more detail.

[ He gives his digimon partner a look.  C'mon Monmon... he JUST told you he's trying to fish for replies from cute girls. ]

OH RIGHT.

Yes right.

You're trying to talk to pretty-

PRETTY MUCH anyone who knows a thing or two about this digital thing, yes!
