[video] Second Hunt

  • Nov. 25th, 2013 at 11:47 AM
[The video switches on to show Nala in her shared apartment with her Kudomon on one side and her new partner, a lopmon, on the other.]

Hello, I know that I have not yet gotten to know many of you all that well, but I wanted to check and make sure everyone is recovering well from that fight. It's been a little bit so hopefully things are sorting out, but if you are in need of help, I am willing to assist people where I can.

I also wanted to introduce my new partner, who I have named Sungura.

Hi there everybody! It's nice to get to meet everyone.

And to let everyone know that I have chosen to change my first partner's name. He will no longer be Hala, but instead will be known as Malaika, which I find more fitting considering the...

digivolution. Nala felt that my digivolution to Piddomon was a chance for her to see something more of me, to name me by. I hope you will all do your best to remember the name change, though I won't take offense to being called Hala by mistake.

Yes, thank you. That is all I have to share at this time, but please do let me know, even if I don't know you personally yet, if there is anything I can do to assist you.

Second Scar [Video]

[Kovu kind of feels sorry for his roommate right about now. Kovu's been growling and snarling the whole day, and by now the former lion is getting really frustrated. He can talk just fine, but he knows he's not saying anything anyone else is going to understand. Lion speech isn't exactly intelligible to someone who only knows human languages. What's worse, Kovu can't understand anything that anyone else is trying to say to him.

Lopmon's been trying to keep him calm the whole time, but it's not going so well. When the feed clicks on, Kovu looks like he's about to throw the D-terminal out the window. Lopmon cringes as Kovu just flat out roars - pretty much in his ear, no less - and then turns to the camera.]

Please tell me there's someone out there who can understand lion. I think Kovu's gonna go crazy if I'm the only one he can talk to.

[What follows will sound to almost everyone like any other big cat noises, but anyone who actually has some feline heritage will be able to understand what Kovu's saying.]

"Crazy" isn't even close.

First Scar [Video]

[The feed clicks on to show the D-terminal in a dim room, and from a pretty funny angle. Lopmon's not on camera, but he's trying to shove it into Kovu's hands, and Kovu's shoving it right back, trying to keep himself off the camera too.]

C'mon Kovu, there are people worried about you! Say something!

Why would they be worried when they're all mad at me?!

How do you even know they're mad at you? You wouldn't let any of them talk! They'd only be mad at you 'cause you haven't talked to any of them for so long!

[Kovu suddenly rushes forward, his jaw and goatee now framed in the upper portion of the screen. His snarl can only be partly seen, but it's perfectly visible.]

All right, smart guy, how do you know?!

[Lopmon stumbles back, and the D-terminal falls to the floor.]

You turned it on?!

[These memories aren't broadcast far and wide. Maybe that's a blessing. Rather, they appear on the D-Terminals of Jinx, Kovu, Wheeljack, Ultra Magnus, Sora, Yu, Mami, and Waver.

The light of fire... )

[It's later in the evening when the TVs and D-Terminals pop on with a fresh new memory, and oh look it's Beastboy and Terra! They look to be on some sort of date making funny faces in a photo booth, riding carnival rides and playing games. It's super cute and they are hugging and being adorable together.

******

Beastboy happens to be in the arcade when this happens so all the video game systems come on too,  he looks worried and is fiddling with the strings on his apron. Rita is sitting nearby and looks confused but the video plays on.

Things are getting intimate now, Terra seems worried. She's about to confess something and they are leaning in for a kiss...

Anyone within the arcade or even near the entrance can hear Beastboy freaking out]

No no no no no! Not cool glitch not cool!!!!!

[He's scrambling around trying to unplug the video game machines as if that would help but the video plays on.

******

A mysterious man with a sexy voice has appeared. He's in full body armor and wearing a mask with only one eye. He wastes no time in grabbing Beastboy by the shirt and hurling him through the door out of the Farris Wheel cart.

"I have plans for you Terra. Did you think you and your little boyfriend could just run away?"

"Let her GO!"

Beastboy has climbed back into the cart and the fight is on! Beastboy and the masked man fight their way up one side of the Farris Wheel and down the other, outside of the carts, on the struts, ontop of the wheel itself. Beastboy is fighting more fiercely then anyone who knows him would imagine, even choosing to attack the man again instead of running when Terra offers him the chance for escape. He's not pulling any punches as he tries to end the masked man but the villain has superior training and strength beyond a human. He has Beastboy pinned and is about to deliver what would be a decisive blow! Beastboy calls out in desperation for Terra who as the memory shows, is hovering around in the air standing on flying rocks.

With a scream and glowing golden hands she opens a fissure in the ground that swallows up the Farris Wheel and the masked man. Beastboy flies away and the two escape.

But it's not over yet...

***************

By this point in the video, Beastboy has left the Arcade telling Rita to cover for him and is desperately trying to call Terra, but the system is down while this memory is playing. With no way of knowing where she'll be he stands in front of a wall of TVs on display in the electronics store window catching every horrible detail of his own .

***************

The duo have run into a fun house to hide but they get separated along the way. The truth is revealed that Terra has been working for this villain the whole time! Beastboy refuses to believe at first having a wonderful freak out smashing his way through the hall of mirrors leaving nothing but glass and broken frames in his wake. He refuses to believe that Terra would betray his friends...his family! The villain informs him that before they left for their date Terra deactivated the security at Titans Tower and his friends were being annihilated. Beastboy doesn't want to believe but...Terra tells him it's true.

You can practically hear his heart breaking in that moment. His face wide with disbelief, confusion, fear that his entire world just came crashing down. All he can do is ask "Why?"

The villain answers for them. "Because you could never give her what she needs."

Beastboy is pushed over the edge in rage once more transforming into a tiger and hurling himself at Slade. The two clash and it looks like Beastboy is winning this time until Slade catches him off guard with a heat blaster that puts him on the ground again.  For a moment Terra stands firm, tells Slade "No! I won't let you hurt my friends!" But Slade simply admonishes her,

"Dear child, you don't have any friends."

Beastboy's up again as a grizzly bear and attacks Slade with twice the fury. Claws flash across the villains mask leaving deep gouges, and Terra flees into the dark. Slade only barely manages to escape by blasting Beastboy point blank again and slipping into the shadows.

Shifting back to human Beastboy stalks through the funhouse seeing twisted reflections of himself and Terra, hearing her sob and apologize again and again.  It's almost grotesque as the funhouse music plays in the backround. She falls to her knees and he finds her shaking.

"Beastboy, I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I never meant for any of this to happen!"

Beastboy's voice is cold and cruel, more so then any have heard in this world. "Then why did you let it?"

She looks shocked, hurt. It's like he just slapped her. "I don't know OK? Slade helped me. Saved me from myself. He said I owed him."

"So it was all game? You were just pretending?" The pain in his voice is masked only by his anger at this betrayal, blinded by his own hurt to see how scared and upset she is.

"No..." She approaches him desperately, "You said you'd be my friend no matter what remember?" She holds out a hand for him...but he sneers and turns his back on her.

"Slade was right, you don't have any friends."

****************************

With that crushing line he walks into the shadows and the memory cuts. Anyone passing by on the street will see Beastboy, stunned, pale, tears running down his cheeks as he was forced to bare witness to a memory he wishes he could bury down deep and never return to.

Wiping his face on his sleeve he opens up a message looking for Terra and types three words.

"Where are you?"

[On everyone's D-Terminal or even anyone that had something with a screen on it, a video will appear. And on it may be strange to some, but maybe isn't all too terribly abnormal for others. There are two turtles on the screen, one with a red mask and a lightning-bolt scar on his plastron, wielding a pair of sai and looking to be in a good mood. The other was tall, lanky, and had a purple mask that may be familiar to anyone who knew a certain human boy with a certain colored mask on. He had a bo staff, and was looking pretty determined. The taller one's attention turned to something else briefly, which made him seem flustered, but he regained his composure.

Then they clashed and during it,t he taller turtle hit the shorter one in the knees and knocked him down. He seemed ti be happily surprised, turning to someone and asking if they saw that. But the other turtle gets up and grabs him with his sai, catching him. People will see the red-banded turtle proceed to use the taller one as a kind of puppet. The feed then cuts as someone off-screen tells the turtles to stop and the taller one gets tossed aside.]

Sixth Verse: (Accidental) Video/Action

[Believe it or not, Marley is actually out and about, walking around Terminal Tokyo with a barely noticeable limp. But she's not the one in charge of the D-Terminal. Hawkmon has it, and is recording Marley while on their walk (though really, it seems like he doesn't realize he's recording, considering the view keeps shifting dizzily from one thing to another).]

--can handle this?

I'm all right, Hawkmon. I can't stay in our room forever.

Well, if you think you need to rest, don't be afraid to sit down!

I'm fine. Honest. And I'm feeling better being outside. Just...

[There's a moment's pause before Hawkmon speaks up again.]

Just....what?

Worried. That's all.

Oooooooh....

[There's the sound of something brushing against the mic, the screen going black before Marley comes into view. She's staring down at the screen, wide-eyed.]

Um...Hawkmon. You realize you were recording, right?

...I was?

[Marley nods and offers a small apologetic smile to the network.]

Sorry about that everyone. We'll try to be more careful next time. And--[Deep breath.]--Everyone who's out fighting, please be safe...

[And with that, she turns off the feed.]

[[OOC: Anyone still in the city feel free to run into Marley while she and Hawkmon are walking around!]]

006 - Sixth Flight [Action]

  • Jul. 6th, 2013 at 5:01 PM
[Hiccup can be seen making his way down the front steps of his apartment building, very carefully, as he carries a small cardboard box in his arms. This small box seems to contain all of he and Fearless' belongings, not including the wagon Hiccup made which is outside, sitting on the sidewalk. He carries the box over and places it in the wagon, giving it one last quick look-through before setting off for the districts set aside for those with crests.

There's a small, burlap bag containing the bits he's earned, Fearless' collar, the two hats that Marley and Hawkmon got them, and the notebook that serves as the "Digimon Manual" he'd been working on. Other than that, that seems to be literally all of Hiccup's possessions besides the clothes on his back and the crest he's wearing around his neck. Well....save for one curious item that he pulls out of the box to examine, before setting it on top so Fearless can see.]

....Now where'd'ya get that cute little guy from, eh?

[Hiccup smiles a little as he grabs the thick rope he tied to the wagon, walking over to Fearless so he can climb onto his back and tie it to his horn, since he's evolved into Ikkakumon for the move. The 'cute little guy' Fearless is talking about appears to be a Gomamon plushie that now sits on top of the rest of the items, peering just over the edge of the box.

The viking shrugs a bit and casts one last glance back at the apartment before patting the side of Fearless' neck, signalling that he can start moving.]

Well uh....remember that festival that was going on a while back? I know you met Jack Frost when I did, and he won that at one of the stands and gave it to me.

Huh...didn't that kid disappear not long ago though? ..Why'd ya keep it?

[The boy lets out a sigh, leaning against the Ikkakumon's horn.]

...well....that's why I kept it. ..Cause he's gone. Dunno when your friends are just going to disappear anymore so....it's nice to have something to remember them by.

[Realizing a little too late that saying that wasn't tactful whatsoever, Fearless just nods and continues making his way down the sidewalk. If anything will get someone's attention, it'll be a giant walrus-like Digimon making it's way slowly down the street.]
