[A little girl who a few might recognize is up on the feed, early in the morning. Looks like she's in the city.]

Hello! With everyone coming and going, a lot of you might not know me, but I'm Hikari Yagami, one of the earlier Chosen Children. With my brother and the others out looking for clues... [And leaving her behind.] I'm sort of...a home-base, he called it.

He told me since some of you are restless here, you can help Koushirou-san. He's trying to get data for a device to shut down the Dark Fields, but he's also trying to research that virus we heard about, so he can't get it himself... That's why my brother told me to use that mission board the Trailmon set up! We need at least four people each to go to the four Dark Fields and get data from them.

You don't need to go inside, don't worry! Just have someone get close enough to stick a data-gatherer in and the others keep any wild Digimon distracted.

[A very tiny pause.]

Gatomon and I can help, if anyone needs it. Just don't tell Taichi.

[ooc: What Hikari's referring to are these missions here for the last week of August, recently put up. This will be important for September's plot.]

Mission 3: Ghosts of the Past

*When the video opens, it shows Dante lying face down in bed, looking uncharacteristically tired. What can be seen of him is completely bare, though anything objectionable is fortunately either off screen or obscured by his position.*

Hey, any of you guys got advice for dealing with an upset sto-

*And that's when the deliberate post cuts off, overshadowed by a strange scene from nowhere in the known digital world.

Elsewhere, various TVs are showing another scene at seemingly random times.*
warning for unsettling content; self-harm )

[ooc: The actual video can be reached by clicking the link in the cut, hitting "continue as free user," and jumping to 17:57 on the timestamp. It ends at 18:55. Warning for what you'd see, it's a kid intentionally falling from a high place to break his own arm. Short, not graphic, but unsettling to say the least. After the static, it picks up again at 20:48 and ends at 21:13 or so. The first scene is, under the cut, briefly detailed. The second is not as it has more dialogue, so it needs to be watched, and it is brief discussion of the previous injury with internalized ableism.

Last but not least Cam may or may not respond to people! This post can be used for action if they try to find him, hint he might be in his room.]

[Waver's memories were, in general, not very pleasant ones. It was fortunate the network picked up what it did today; he knew very well that much, much worse could have possibly been broadcast. (Caster came to mind, for an unfortunate example.)]

[The screen comes on, like so many others, seemingly by itself. Neku can be seen in the background, in the bathroom in fact. He's in front of the mirror, hair slightly damp and not all spiked, and a toothbrush hanging from his mouth. He slathers some gel in his hands and starts spiking up his hair, pauses, tries it a different way-]

Hurry up, princess!

Shud dap!

[And the screen flickers to-

Don't Kill Me )

...Stupid! Stupid Neku!

[And she runs off, right out the door, leaving Neku looking horrified and even more confused with toothpaste and half applied hairgel still on his face]

003 ☁ Memories

  • Aug. 26th, 2013 at 12:54 PM
[ Sora has a lot of good memories. he's been to many different worlds and has encountered a variety of people. even dreaming, he seems to make friends. one particular instance in a sleeping Traverse Town will never cease to bring a smile to his face. Sora will do his best to meet up with them again, if he can.

just like there are good ones, there are also reminders of the journey he's had thusfar. ]

[It's later in the evening when the TVs and D-Terminals pop on with a fresh new memory, and oh look it's Beastboy and Terra! They look to be on some sort of date making funny faces in a photo booth, riding carnival rides and playing games. It's super cute and they are hugging and being adorable together.

******

Beastboy happens to be in the arcade when this happens so all the video game systems come on too,  he looks worried and is fiddling with the strings on his apron. Rita is sitting nearby and looks confused but the video plays on.

Things are getting intimate now, Terra seems worried. She's about to confess something and they are leaning in for a kiss...

Anyone within the arcade or even near the entrance can hear Beastboy freaking out]

No no no no no! Not cool glitch not cool!!!!!

[He's scrambling around trying to unplug the video game machines as if that would help but the video plays on.

******

A mysterious man with a sexy voice has appeared. He's in full body armor and wearing a mask with only one eye. He wastes no time in grabbing Beastboy by the shirt and hurling him through the door out of the Farris Wheel cart.

"I have plans for you Terra. Did you think you and your little boyfriend could just run away?"

"Let her GO!"

Beastboy has climbed back into the cart and the fight is on! Beastboy and the masked man fight their way up one side of the Farris Wheel and down the other, outside of the carts, on the struts, ontop of the wheel itself. Beastboy is fighting more fiercely then anyone who knows him would imagine, even choosing to attack the man again instead of running when Terra offers him the chance for escape. He's not pulling any punches as he tries to end the masked man but the villain has superior training and strength beyond a human. He has Beastboy pinned and is about to deliver what would be a decisive blow! Beastboy calls out in desperation for Terra who as the memory shows, is hovering around in the air standing on flying rocks.

With a scream and glowing golden hands she opens a fissure in the ground that swallows up the Farris Wheel and the masked man. Beastboy flies away and the two escape.

But it's not over yet...

***************

By this point in the video, Beastboy has left the Arcade telling Rita to cover for him and is desperately trying to call Terra, but the system is down while this memory is playing. With no way of knowing where she'll be he stands in front of a wall of TVs on display in the electronics store window catching every horrible detail of his own .

***************

The duo have run into a fun house to hide but they get separated along the way. The truth is revealed that Terra has been working for this villain the whole time! Beastboy refuses to believe at first having a wonderful freak out smashing his way through the hall of mirrors leaving nothing but glass and broken frames in his wake. He refuses to believe that Terra would betray his friends...his family! The villain informs him that before they left for their date Terra deactivated the security at Titans Tower and his friends were being annihilated. Beastboy doesn't want to believe but...Terra tells him it's true.

You can practically hear his heart breaking in that moment. His face wide with disbelief, confusion, fear that his entire world just came crashing down. All he can do is ask "Why?"

The villain answers for them. "Because you could never give her what she needs."

Beastboy is pushed over the edge in rage once more transforming into a tiger and hurling himself at Slade. The two clash and it looks like Beastboy is winning this time until Slade catches him off guard with a heat blaster that puts him on the ground again.  For a moment Terra stands firm, tells Slade "No! I won't let you hurt my friends!" But Slade simply admonishes her,

"Dear child, you don't have any friends."

Beastboy's up again as a grizzly bear and attacks Slade with twice the fury. Claws flash across the villains mask leaving deep gouges, and Terra flees into the dark. Slade only barely manages to escape by blasting Beastboy point blank again and slipping into the shadows.

Shifting back to human Beastboy stalks through the funhouse seeing twisted reflections of himself and Terra, hearing her sob and apologize again and again.  It's almost grotesque as the funhouse music plays in the backround. She falls to her knees and he finds her shaking.

"Beastboy, I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I never meant for any of this to happen!"

Beastboy's voice is cold and cruel, more so then any have heard in this world. "Then why did you let it?"

She looks shocked, hurt. It's like he just slapped her. "I don't know OK? Slade helped me. Saved me from myself. He said I owed him."

"So it was all game? You were just pretending?" The pain in his voice is masked only by his anger at this betrayal, blinded by his own hurt to see how scared and upset she is.

"No..." She approaches him desperately, "You said you'd be my friend no matter what remember?" She holds out a hand for him...but he sneers and turns his back on her.

"Slade was right, you don't have any friends."

****************************

With that crushing line he walks into the shadows and the memory cuts. Anyone passing by on the street will see Beastboy, stunned, pale, tears running down his cheeks as he was forced to bare witness to a memory he wishes he could bury down deep and never return to.

Wiping his face on his sleeve he opens up a message looking for Terra and types three words.

"Where are you?"

[Oh look, another memory

When it cuts back to reality, Yu can be seen, eating lunch and looking amused. He looks to Elecmon.]

If not for Teddie I bet I would have won. What do you think?

You were really pretty Yu.

Thanks. [Oh god does he actually look *proud* of himself?]

[Video] [Memory Leak]

  • Aug. 26th, 2013 at 3:32 PM
[On everyone's D-Terminal or even anyone that had something with a screen on it, a video will appear. And on it may be strange to some, but maybe isn't all too terribly abnormal for others. There are two turtles on the screen, one with a red mask and a lightning-bolt scar on his plastron, wielding a pair of sai and looking to be in a good mood. The other was tall, lanky, and had a purple mask that may be familiar to anyone who knew a certain human boy with a certain colored mask on. He had a bo staff, and was looking pretty determined. The taller one's attention turned to something else briefly, which made him seem flustered, but he regained his composure.

Then they clashed and during it,t he taller turtle hit the shorter one in the knees and knocked him down. He seemed ti be happily surprised, turning to someone and asking if they saw that. But the other turtle gets up and grabs him with his sai, catching him. People will see the red-banded turtle proceed to use the taller one as a kind of puppet. The feed then cuts as someone off-screen tells the turtles to stop and the taller one gets tossed aside.]

[Video] 2; Memory Leak

{{OOC: Warnings for violence and gore under the cut.}}

Nice to meet you, loser! They call me Misfire. Long story.

[The audio comes in on everyone's D-Terminals long before the video, after a moment of horrible flickering and static. But it's clearly Misfire's voice speaking, and the video cuts in halfway through him talking to reveal a magenta-armored robot holding some kind of pump in his hands, which is attached to a tan-colored robot.

The magenta one, who has a broad grin on his face, is very clearly Misfire, even if his voice hadn't gave him away.]

Actually, y'know what? It isn't. It's a very short story, involving a machine gun, a misunderstanding, and -- [He chuckles, a bit sheepishly, here.] A dozen dead Decepticons.

[The other bot opens his mouth to speak:] I'm Fulcrum --

[The audio cuts out, skipping to Misfire introducing the four other Decepticons on the scene: Crankcase, Spinister, Flywheels, and Krok at an almost break-neck speed.]

[And then it cuts off, almost immediately jumping to another memory. And the contents within... aren't for the faint of heart.] )

001; birth.

[Everyone's screen should show two memories. One is stifling, in a dark, dark place, with murals of terrible creatures on the wall. There's a girl which is not a girl; both full of life and shadowed by death, both young and vigorous and old and so, so tired. And there's the warrior himself, coming from, being formed by the light itself; possessing the body of a man; yet only seconds old - baptized with conflict - and silently looking away.]

012; death.

[The transmission isn't finished. It shows what happened before the Warrior found himself in Terminal Tokyo - taking on an army of crystalline attackers, not giving an inch. He's burned, frozen, sliced, clubbed and pierced, but he will not- shall not - ever give. A woman at the back of him silently watches, until she acts.

As she vanishes, the Warrior appears to drop dead and vanish himself, awakening amidst bodies and bodies of fallen - which raise; and are consumed by fire. Those which remember Lightning from her time in Terminal Tokyo are more than welcome to spot her; and Squall, if watching, will most likely see his own body there.

Platypost 04 [video/montage]

[The screen is fuzzy for a moment before it fades out and is replaced by a man with a monobrow and large nose. He looks rather gruff and has a voice to match. However, instead of addressing the screen he glances off camera.]
Carl. Are we sure this is the right time for this? I thought we already did a clip show flashback episode.

[Carl, who cannot be seen, responds with a nasally voice from off screen]
Sorry, sir, but this was special ordered. We’re supposed to be reviewing some important plot points in Agent’s P’s career.

[The monobrowed figure head frowns.]
Don’t we usually reserve those for award shows?

[Carl emphasizes his point, still off screen.]
Special ordered, sir.

[The man on screen sighs and gives in.]
I see. Well, roll the footage then Carl. I hope this is better edited than your Christmas montage.

I made a very nice arrangement this time, sir.

[The screen fades out. The footage begins. Either there is a random musical montage about a platypus who is also a secret agent…or someone hasn’t been completely honest about their background.]
